For me personally, the most reliable thing besides surviving and going about everyday things is making my own ammunition. This is always worth it and, depending on your needs, also brings with it a considerable amount of FP.
That doesn't make sense. If fame was nerfed because new players wouldn't be able to buy stuff then why should he craft ammo? Also no new players have 20k to just run to outpost to buy what they want or 70k to buy a car. So again. What is the point with fame? We have played for 1 week at this server and got killed a few times = 300 fame points. What is even the point with famepoints if you cant obtain it in a normal way? At this point they shuld just remove it because its ruining the game. Losing fame point is to easy. Just a camper in a bunker and boom, youre down 25%.
People who say just look for cars in the world can't be playing this game alot. You simply can't just go and get a car or parts because they are random spawn.
For me now the game is just a running game. You use to mutch of your playing time to just run.
Ive build the base. Get 0 fame for that, only get fame for the time it takes to build and not the building itself. Ive done cooking, 0 fame for that. Sold items 0 fame, killed puppets 0 fame. If crafting ammo is the only way to get fame then its completly broken.
You get fame points for a variety of activities, not just crafting ammunition or killing enemies. They're called fame points, but they're more like reputation on the TV show and also on the island.
The more you survive and do something about it, the more you become known for it. Your “reputation” (fame points) increases and you become better known. Dealers know you and are more likely to sell you something, etc.
Someone who dies often and is "unreliable" doesn't get very far with the dealers themselves. (The experience can also differ dramatically from the original game aspect on private servers).
So the whole thing makes perfect sense when you look at it. As far as running goes, I can get from A to B in a very short time, whether with or without a means of transportation. I generally prefer to walk and often travel long distances because I don't want to rely on one base or commit myself to one place. So according to the motto "Where the wind takes me."
How you play and what you want to use is up to you. But there is no such thing as a “must”. Nobody has to have a vehicle, nobody "has to" run cross-country across the map and so much more that is within your own freedom of choice and how you want to approach it.
Find a good starting point from which you can easily reach everything and where your favorite places are. Especially if you want to commit yourself or want to build a base, it is a good idea to build a solid base in the best possible location. The paths are clear and what you do with them is up to you. This is survival. Survive with what you have and make something of the situation in front of you.
You speak like you're the only one on the server. Running around thinking of flowers and stuff. It's not that simple when you take PVP into the playstyle. Game is for sure not about walking arround in your own mindset. It's about surviving, raiding and killing people/pupps. With this comes basebuilding ofc. You shuld know that a game develops after what the players want and not what the devs want. If the midset is play as the devs want then they are going to kill their own game before its even fully realased.
Either 1 fix the fame issue and give more fame gains for doing stuff in game or
2 Remove the fame completly as its not needed because of the expensive traders.
People can do this of course, but this is just Rust game play, and Rust does this far better.
When there were 4 of the old safezones with the helipads I was hoping there would be a function to get a heli ride to another safezone. Yes, you have to do some walking, but you wouldn't have to hoof it from somewhere like the B2 airfield to the naval yard. I used to do this before the cars were added and it was a matter of using a play session just to get from A to B, and this was before they expanded the map. Watching your character jog is only interesting for so long before it becomes...
They want the cars to be luxuries, and I get that, but I think it would be far better if there was a simpler, albeit slower, method of transportation that didn't waste so much of your time watching your character auto-run. When there was talk of taming horses I thought that might be a good solution. When they talked about bicycles I thought they might be it, but now they just end up locked and hidden in bushes.
You need to ask your admin whats up!
IMO Simply playing the game on vanilla settings there is no issue earning fame-yes it takes time but it is doable.
I do wish that the fame would increase faster myself though. I do not agree that if you die you loose so much fame-I like that if you suicide you do.
I do not like that if someone kills you they earn as much fame as they do atm it should be less again these are my opinions only!
I have never played Rust and do not own it. ^^ Above all, I want to say that you can achieve a lot locally before you look for a new location within whose radius you can achieve a lot, etc. A little planning ahead and acting accordingly helps the most, especially in a survival moment.
Unfortunately, I often see moments where players run from Samobor to the scrapyard and back again and then complain that it doesn't get any faster to collect scrap metal and many other moments where it's just more of a; I want everything right now, wish is behind it. But that's a bit like survival.
No, I also play on a server where "PvP" is perfectly acceptable and doesn't happen infrequently. The fact that other players want to eliminate you is a different kind of “event” anyway, from the basic principle you can achieve a lot just by surviving. Anyone who survives despite PvP definitely has the greatest advantages here.
My longest survival streak was recently 14 days where I climbed to a laughable 2400FP because I took out the previous reigning survival master when he was careless (and because he was at odds with an ally)
Yes, PVP is part of it because you are not alone on the island and yes, you can definitely be “unlucky”. But if you approach it skillfully, FP is the least of the evils.
That actually means that this system is punishing bad(unlucky) players and the good ones are given even more advantages. Its not fair to be honest. If you have to get a kill to get i decent amount of famepoints then the survival part is just a joke. Because you are not awarded for survival as it is. You can stay afk in outpost just eating from time to time and that will give you famepoints.
Still dont see the point of famepoints other then to make it harder to get transportation. Even bicycles need as mutch fame points as cars. So by the look of it the devs want you to stay in your town or spend alot of your time walking everywhere. I simply can't find the logic in that.
You can't just sit in one town. You need to go to outpost to sell so you are able to spawn sector at least. This is the issue.
I also want to say that over my 100 hours ive had alot of fun with this game. It have alot of potential, just right now I think at least famepoints need better balancing.
It's not about "punishing" players, but about how the whole thing is handled in general. I'll stick with the PvP example here. Do you have to play PvP just because the server allows it? No of course not. The decision about whether to attack or not is entirely up to the player. Either way, a defense is certainly a necessity, but you can still decide to leave even in a defensive situation.
Decisions you make have consequences that you don't always plan in advance, but can be anticipated based on the experience you gain over time. Accordingly, as you gain experience, you simply react to situations differently than you did before.
And if you take this into account and plan carefully by surviving, you will also make progress very quickly in FP and in general. It may not always be easy, but at some point you overcome the first hurdles, then the next ones and so on until you have outgrown yourself. This is completely natural.
The FP also reflect this, the more skilled you become in the game, the more you will notice how easy everything becomes and how quickly you can achieve your goals if you follow what you have learned.
As far as respawning is concerned, you have various options here. You can literally find money on the street, trading with the outposts is not forced, ATM's are spread across the island and here you can get more capital for respawns bit by bit and carefully enough. This doesn't just give you practice, it's also much easier if you know how and where the machines are than trying to reach a "besieged" outpost.
I can only advise that you trust the experience and not the routine. Anyone who can adapt and adapt to the circumstances that affect them demonstrates true survival and will in many ways come out better in the game. :)
