0.95 first impressions
So far i have mixed feelings about it.

Removing exterior, interior and wild spawn options was an absolutely terrible decision. I haven't seen any puppets in the wild yet (although i have to admit i only went to the nearest town to loot it, so maybe they spawn in the wild???). So no more danger from puppets in the wild is pretty boring and the same goes for interiors too. Why the ♥♥♥♥ did you do that? Please add them again.

Another absolute horrible decision was removing the puppet respawn timer. I used to have many puppets in towns and POIs and it was fun cleaning the places. Now they constantly spawning out of nowhere. Feels like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ magic and completely ruins my immersion. Again please bring the option back.

It is absurd how fast puppet corpses despawn. Killed 3 and wanted to chop them up for bones and skin, but after the first one the rest were already despawned. Corpses next to you should not despawn at all, if you ask me. How about a server setting so we can deside for ourselves when they despawn?


The hordes are nice, once i set a higher spawn distance they don't break my immersion and are overall a great addition to the game. But hordes are triggered a bit too often from puppets screaming and they do it all the time. Wouldn't be so bad if i could clean a place from puppets without them respawning all the time.

Puppets being able to enter buildings is definitely a great addition and was desperately needed.

It also seems that cargo drops spawn puppets which is also pretty good.

You've also done a great job with the crafting rework.

Desynch is horendous
We were 3 2 2 on puppets. We are at vanilla atm and the desynch is horrendous!

The way that these puppets are spawning in now out of the blue is making my players really pissed off...never have seen it this bad even when the server was full of players!

I've just seen two puppets spawn in from thin air 20m away from me when I shot at a puppet a little further away, this isn't fun, and not realistic either, lots of patching for devs to do, and to fix the audio, again..

As usual the devs didn't bother to play their game for ten minutes to test changes. Puppets are quickly spawning back in as you kill them. At the edge of town I pull puppets in one by one and kill them with a wood spear. I kill them, cut some rags and make a courier bag, then I start to move into the town again and I notice new puppets have spawned back in.

Or maybe things are working as intended, towns are now impossible/extremely tedious to loot safely without drawing in multiple zombies on you in single player.

I found a boat so i have to go back and forth between boat and town and every time it's full of puppets. So annoying and on top of that they constantly spawn somewhere very close to you. I haven't seen them popping up in front of me, so i guess they spawn in my back. Wtf? I tested the destroyzombie command and it always says 0 destroyed but 2 seconds later i'm jumped on by one or more of them.

The point is that we had options before. I don't care what they've intended for official servers. With my settings most locations were dangerous, but no teleportation magic ruined the immersion. It really sucks ass and is indeed very tedious.

new hordes broken?
so I sneak into a town and go into police station, Loot a couple containers and they spawn right before your eyes. All immersion is now gone for me, you go clear an area then all of sudden stuff spawning all around you again out of no where including beepers. Even when being sneaky. I had a feeling it was going to act like this which is a major dissapointment. Was really looking forward to this update but it seems like the game is getting more and more away from realism with every patch comes more immersion breaking features which makes me sad. Hopefully in the end it turns out good but for now it is hardly enjoyable now.

Yep I agree with respawn rates and respawn distance and despawn timers. It's just an immersion killer and I can't play it in this state. I love this game and they did an amazing job on alot of things the community wanted but its hard to enjoy the game right now with this feature acting this way

But boy has town and POI become dangerous! I am glad I am a semi newbie now and not totally newbie. New players are gonna have quite a steep learning curve now.

The point is that we had options. I absolutely miss the danger in the wilds.I've set just as many as i needed so that i couldn't mindlessly running around without getting attacked. Just running from town to town with nothing in between is pretty boring.

Yeah I'm done with this update already, feels like the game just spawns puppets in close to me.

Good thing I hadn't had the time yet to test the update.
I had set the respawn timer of the Zombies to 1h, because if you clear a town for example, it should stay clear for some time. You're telling that's not an option anymore?

I had also set it to 1h, but no, the option is no longer there. You can't clear a location. It just spawns puppets right next to you as if some sort of teleportation magic happens. Maybe Tec1 is now doing occult rituals to summon puppets. Maybe they want to kill their game. I have no clue.

Sorry to SAY ... YES _ Puppets are in the wild or at least in my game they Are .. I was starting a small Base build and had a couple not far from me ..

SIDE NOTE - If NO ONE Noticed .... They Nerf the buildings Down by half or more ... a stick foundation ONLY Has 100 HP now and Wood is 200 HP where it was 650 HP in my last game.

Just Thought I would say something about it. Have FUN and DIE Well.

There is an option for "Encounter Character Respawn Time Multiplier" which I am just guessing is the option for it?

Also we need seat belts now - Just took some damage inside my car driving over bumpy terrain. I guess the days of making ridiculous car jumps are truly over now :-/


You could be right. I thought the encounter options are only for the horde, but maybe i
was wrong.

@gpcstargate: Could it be that once you plant a flag, it becomes a POI? So no "real" wild puppets, but once you start building a base, puppets will spawn around it.

Could be .. didn't notice them when I planted flag ,, but not until after I started the build .. I'm building the same area as before - above the town in A-3 off dirt road ........ AND No you Can't Raid Me .. SP Only, Lol

Nice, they f-ed up even more.

And yeah, guessing options... that's another big problem of this game.
They could use the tooltips explaining what an option does, what the numbers mean if I go higher or lower with them etc.
I'm a PC gamer/user for over 30 years and have rarely seen such unclear options in a game or software.

They don't even care to explain that stuff in more depth somewhere it seems.
Similar with the update handling; it's an automatic wipe for everybody, but they don't tell people *when* it will drop.
I mean... again, wtf are they thinking?!
I bought this game a week ago and really have one question: why seems everything so intransparent with these devs?
