Melee Pouch/Holster thing, no use?
Have found heaps of those Melee Pouch things that are (I'm guessing?) supposed to hold a melee weapon, yet no melee weapons will go in them, all display red and wont drop in the pouch, knives, swords, spears, sledge hammers... nothing seems to go in them, is this a bug?

Yeah, they probably should change the name from "Melee Weapon Holster" to "Knife Holster" to avoid the confusion, I had thought the bottom part of it looked open so that a sledge hammer could slot through it and be held there (that would make sense to me..) but the Scout seems to fit it so that's ok, that's basically the only knife I use for cutting and opening cans..

We are planning to expand on it hence the name but it proved to be more complicated with the rendering.

Only straight knives with a weight below 500gr will fit into that "melee-holster" (most bajonettes wont fit because of their weight. At least those I've tried didn't)
The "hunter knife" that's bowed will not fit either (while I guess that's a bug and not intended).
And all other melee weapons are simply too large to fit in.

It's a knife sheathe..

Anything that states its a knife fits.

Currently, (and I confirm this in game), this is the melee weapons that fit into a 'knife sheathe' or knife pouch:
Bushman
MK5000
Kunai
Kitchen Knife
N9 'Buck knife' (Bayonet)
Scout

These are the melee weapons that make sense that should fit

You will wonder why the 'Hunter' folding knife don't fit... well... its because its a folding knife; its not stored with the blade extended (usually unless you're special), usually you fold it up and put it in your pocket attached to a lanyard

If anything, the devs need to make the hunter folding knife inventory space smaller -should be a 4 grid square (2x2) rather than the 8 squares (or 2x4)

it would be nice to fit a sword in it like how knights use to carry them or any ancient warrior for that matter
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Does this mean no more 'magnetic' back 'mounted/carried' melee weapons?

Does this mean that melee weapons need to have belt loops, holsters, sheathes, scabbards etc?? If so, colour me excited!

We're getting a proper carriage system!

If not, I will assume the fetal position and cry myself to sleep while sobbing about magnetic weapons and the insanity of it all
