Leather backpack

no longer breaks down into leather. It now makes cloth rags. I've always broken them down into leather when I find them.

Once upon a time I thought we could use puppet skin, but the crafting description now specifically says animal leather.

I could be misremembering the puppet skin, but I am positive about the leather backpack.

Not sure if bug or working as intended so no skin offa me (ha ha) either way.

You can still use puppet skins to craft the "improvised leather backpack" (only the animal skin show up first in the list of required items).

And it still breaks down to 3 rags and 1 leather if you cut it into pieces.
It may depend on what was used when it was build if that 1 leather is an animal leather or a puppet skin.

And...I never found one of those when looting!
Or did you take it from a player?

Hey :),

I really enjoy using the leather backpacks, but I can't remember that they made animal leather when cut.

But it's different with the leather pistol holsters, which give the animal skin when you dismantle them.
Not all recipes can be made using Puppet Skin, but there are still a few that can be used and are definitely worth taking a look at. :)

Hmm, i do not remember when i dismanteled one, but it's been at least months since I dismantled a backpack like this.
They have somehow become my lucky charm backpacks so I am careful not to harm them. ^^""

I've now checked this more closely. However, the Spawnitem Leather_Backpack_01, _02, _03 only came out with fabric and without leather.

Interesting.
I spawned "Improvised_Backpack_big" (I hope I am remembering right, but it was this or very similar to this, and definitely had "improvised" in it)
And that came out with rags and fabric.
No idea what the item-name of the one is that you can actually craft :)

Yeah,...I build many of them, to store stuff in chests, as I don't have a base and am living out of four or five chests usually.
And I really like them for daily use as well.
So, it's literally years ago since I destroyed one (except for the one that I just spawned for the test).

Basic survival Improvised backpacks give rags and animal skin when "cut into rags" even when they're made from puppet skin.
Not sure if there was a cut into skin option?
