With one of the updates they did some changes to fishing, where to find certain fish at what time of day and which bait to use.
In general you can use almost everything as bait, meat, cheese, bugs, worms and sardines to catch bigger fish.
Best is to use the fishing reel pro, the strongest line at 0.5 mm, triple hooks and the big floater for better visibility.
You will need to change your fishing location and time of day depending on the type of fish you are fishing for.
For more information, read the following.

Large catfish live in the lake and can break your fishing line.
There don't seem to be any catfish in the small lake, but I have no idea how big the small lake is.
You should have more than one fishing line, float and bait.
Until you get used to fishing, the thicker the fishing line, the better.
The lake is full of fish in the late afternoon and early morning. Expensive floats reflect light and make it easy to locate the float even in the middle of the night.
A small fish from a lake will deliver as much meat as a large one.
It may be different for fish from the ocean. I haven't caught one of those yet.
But a 2.5kg fish from a lake gives the same amount as a 1kg or even 600gr fish.
But regardless of the size of the fish, two slices of fish meat, I don't think it matters that much.
You can fish endlessly because you can use the fish you catch as bait. You can't eat all the fish if you cook them.
to OP
As soon as you drop a fishing line into the lake, the fish will respond. If you can fish without breaking the line, you will have no problem finding food.
Your cooking skills will also improve.
A fire and grill items, a refrigerator, and a generator would be even better.
I'm going to use tip to try to catch a fish.
Do I need to consume ÔMEGA-3
This should not be the case, will look into it.
Tuna yeilds 4x200g. At least at 25+kg
There are some large freshwater fish, so it is best to have extra line, float, and hooks.
When fishing at night, it is difficult to see the float, so use a large bonfire to light the lake and use an expensive float to make it easier to see the float's reaction.
That looks like the creek by Medsave. There's no fish in those narrow creeks. A good clue for knowing there is fish is to look for ripples in the water, focus mode with show a clue.
That's a really small pond, and I'm not sure if you'll find fish in it.
But if you go South-West from this place, pass that village, you'll find a large lake that has plenty of fish (maybe even a boat spawned there, as it is one of the places where they do).
And you got a nice view while you're waiting for the fish to bite :)
It's a five minute walk (if not interrupted).

Seems interesting! I'll go there later.
