Improvised tools for cooking
If we now consider how cooking works, we need a lot of space and a lot of tools / ingredients.

For example to craft a single coffee/tea in wilderness we need a pot and a heat source. That means we need a hiking backpack.
To fry a egg we need a heat source and a pan, doable with a small backpack but all the inventory space will be occupied by cooking tools.

We should be to make coffeee or tea with just a fireplace and a metal cup. We could use a fireplace and a metal scrap as a pan to cook eggs or vegetables.

I'm asking to devs if it's planned to add improvised version of some tools or light and small versions made for camping, for those players that bring everything with them.
Why not adding portable boiling device?

Now going around with a heat source, a generator a pot and a pan fells quite weird.
So I end up to cook food at a outpost where I drop a chest with all the cooking stuff and ingredients.
All fine but a bit boring to get back to the same outpost just to craft food.

I'm not asking to make things more easy, but more easy to manage.

i would like to know the same.
on the coffee/tea recipe there is another item listed as being used other then the pot, forget what its call but looked it up and it was form of kettle for making coffee/tea - but where is it, its not in game.

I camp & make a living selling camping gear and never use a grill to boil water for coffee, i always do it beside the fire on some coals and never with a soup pot, so 100% agree we need something portable.

The pan is fine as its not too big, but we need spots beside the fire to place it to cook from, this is a realistic way of camp cooking as well, it was show cased when cooking leaks were given that fire places would have cooking spots, what happened to this? along with craft able cooking options being shown.

Im not complaining about the new cooking, im enjoying it, its great for base cooking, just think we need something more portable and hiking friendly

my suggestions are
- cook spots by fire
- a kettle of some description about the size of the frying pan
- camp oven ( some countries i believe call them dutch ovens)
- tripod ( both find able as metal folding tripod and craft able from sticks) that both the kettle and camp oven can hang from, this would open up all forms of cooking while around the fire and away from base

We could use something like an aluminium mess tin the British army use, it's a metal dish with a fold-able handle that you can use to brew tea/coffee or your bait/scran/food on a open fire or over some wax firelighters. I used to buy army surplus stuff for camping and they worked a treat.

never used them myself, not used much over my side of the world but it is a option they could use in game

Yes it's a croatian name for a traditional cup, but forgot the name. Maybe it will be added.

Yes that was my point.

+1 yes some tools like that

Maybe using camping tools and improvised pots the dishes will be smaller (less nutrients, less charges) compared to those cooked inside a base or a prebuilt kitchen.

Or maybe the time for a perfectly cooked dish will be shorter, with a chance to ruin it, overcooking it.

Will forward the feedback forward and see what we can do.
