okay, this is really the only way... okay. i guess swimming across islands are almost impossible unless you dont have gear on. and well if the sharks don't bite your boootyyy..
thanks! :)
i think it should also. hopefully that would be adjusted also after all the things that needs work. :) thanks! :)
That said...the gear carriable in the water could be a little more forgiving.
So yeah...with your set up sinking is pretty much assured and also fairly realistic.
Try a lighter rifle.
never thought about it like that. yeah, its just that my M1 goes with me anywhere, i think its one of the best weapons in the game. :( and i just found it. and i love it. :( hahahaha anyway, you make so much sense i might just save up for a boat. :)) thanks! <3
Well yea that's what I mean. I don't think I should be able to swim with a rocket launcher and RPK with a backpack full of gear on. But an empty bag, a rifle, and a pistol shouldn't make me sink like a stone, but swimming in general (unless in fresh water) is a waste of time since sharks are an automatic spawn on your position if you are in ocean water.
Something like;
A backpack (any type)
6 empty 2-litre bottles
Duct tape/rope/thread
Craft it, place it on water then "drive" it like a wheelbarrow, only kicking water instead of walking.
I'd still get eaten by a shark, but if it behaved like an improvised wheelbarrow (IE not despawning as it's a vehicle) then at least you could go back to where you got killed in a boat to reclaim your gear as it'd still be floating where you died.
I always do my experiments for fun. Clothing is one of the biggest problems when it comes to swimming. Backpacks can become quite soaked with water and thus gain enormously in weight. The smaller and less absorbent the backpack, the more likely you will be able to stay up. But I can always recommend training here. Find a shallow lake or some shallow water, put on gear and see how much you can go without drowning.
In general, however, you can still swim to the top with a maximum weight of around 10 kg. (Tested with AS-Val and VSS on back around 9kg, underwear and shoes total weight 9.56kg.)
With equipment weighing 11 kg and a lot of effort (keep the spacebar pressed while swimming) I was able to swim through rivers or small stretches in the ocean with significantly more equipment. So it works, but you have to time it very well so that it works well. I think the heaviest thing I had was ~12.5 kg total weight. (Because I totally underestimated a sweater.)
When swimming in the ocean you have to be careful and definitely cross shallow water bodies. The shark will only appear in deep water, not when the water is too shallow.
i tried swimming the gap between the middle section of the map and the bottom section. there is an ocean separating the two.. i thought i could. nope. HAHAHA.. thank you! :) will try it again later when i play :) hehehe
+100
harpoon would be dope too to do some free diving hunting or defend against sharks and an actual sailboat not just the raft would be the dream.
