Only few of them i have found from places like police station kitchens or that restaurant kitchen.
EDIT: may i add, its like 1-2 books per mid-sized town, rarely none. Are you playing on default settings?
or any bookshelf.
BTW, you now need to leave an area completely for loot to properly regenerate. So, if you loot a town and then log off in that town in a bed, next time you log on, there will be some loot around but it seems lowered. its best to go to the next town over it seems.
I will head for the hospital then, cause I haven't found anything in regular houses or restaurants.
Is there a setting to make days shorter in overall length, and does that influence plant growth? The plants in my plant bed seem to do nothing other than accumulate weeds every five minutes...
Hi there, you can play around with the loot settings in single player and you should have a significantly higher chance of finding loot (recipe books included)
ESC menu -> Server settings ->Tab "Features" ->Subcategory "item spawning"
-> Spawner probability multiplier - set at max value 10.0
-> Examine spawner probability multiplier - set at max value 10.0
Also try to focus more on towns to find recipe books, in houses, kitchens, restaurants etc.
