Yes, with the latest Patch Silencers got a rework and will lose durability way faster then they did before so make sure you care for your Silencer and make good use of it. :)
I don't like this change at all.
You're always going for realism on every corner and than comes something like this wich makes no sense. (to me at anyway)
Same goes for the improvised ones. They're utterly useless right now, one shot poof gone. Wth? ;b
Then don't let us craft them and remove them from the game entirely.
Is it possible to check the patch history link for the rework?
I looked at some of the patch history, starting with the latest history, excluding developer news, but couldn't find it.
And I don't know if the silencer rework was fixed overall or just the MP5 silencer, but I think both of these are out of balance.
I can only guess at that. For me it is at least logical and understandable:
In contrast to the past, I think this change is actually very good. Mufflers have always been a "constant" because they lasted forever. Due to the change, these now are vulnerable and consume significantly. For players, this means that they have to think more carefully about when to use the silencers and when not to. You have to take good care of the silencers if you want to keep them for a long time.
The Improvised are based on a very flimsy basis. As an example, the ones made from filled bottles. If you shoot with these, the bottle is damaged and then all the insulation to suppress shots is lost. The heat of a shot would then do the rest as the bottles can't stand the temperatures at all.
Personally, I think it's good because I've only used it on rare occasions before. For example, if I wanted to be in bunkers or in the presence of mechanical opponents to be able to act as inconspicuously as possible. I tend not to use silencers when I'm walking through cities, and I don't use them in the wilderness either.
It is noted Here QoL : Suppressors now loose durability on each shot.
As far as i can tell it was changed for any supressors. However, there are differences. My MK18 silencer for example lasts longer then my Kar98 Silencer.

looking back at the video in this context i saw the silencer as i was looting as the weapon was equipped.
My only question is do they want us to use a weapon repair kit to repair the silencer alone, and if so should it take a full use of the kit as if we were repairing the entire weapon ?
I'll repair my silencer more often but it should NOT use my Weapon Repair Kit as if i repaired the entire weapon ?
1 new change effects more than just that item, i hope they took that into account, ill test soon and report. Or some1 else test and confirm please.
Still, makes no sense imho.
A suppressor is the part of a weapon wich suffers least, apart from a grip maybe.
The weapon degrading is already overdone, now that too. Yeah naah...
They usually last 1000's of rounds so its another case of trenchfoot and hand abrasions, yay -.-

That’s misleading. Proper use yes, spaced out shots allowing time to cool after each shot. Full auto and shots in quick succession will damage the baffles in the can.
