Does "toasty" mean it's cooked???
Cooking bear meat for the first time since update 0.85. Previously we would hear sizzling sounds and notifications like "slightly cooked" or "cooked", so that was clear. But after the update we don't get the sizzling sounds anymore and I have no idea what "toasty" means. Does it mean it's burned or does it mean it's good enough to eat?

Are you cooking in a pan ?

Cuz in a pan or pot theres a timer you can watch and when the timer expires you " grab " the food and it usually says " perfectly cooked " and you remember that recipe for all time,

On the ground or grill i havent tried yet so im curious to learn how poor folk cook lol j/k

Cooking on a grill is what i meant to say :p

I'm cooking on a grill, sort of like we used to do before the update. Made a fire ring and placed a grill over it.

I guess "toasty" means it's ready because if you leave it on the fire a bit longer it starts to spoil fast. Meat by the way is spoiling at an idiotic rate, even inside a working refrigerator. I have a working refrigerator in my base kitchen and my fresh meat spoils under my eyes within minutes. Definitely needs tweaking.

Hello :),

When you check the taste and it refers to "toasty" i think it was a bit too much on the Grill.

Thanks, I'll remember that

hey man, so we dont cook the way we used to at all anymore, light your fire, and the [F] prompt on your grill should be "cook food." use that, and clcik to add a recipe, go to grill, and then grilled meat or grilled fish, depending on what you're cooking, then drag the meat from your inventory on the left, to the meat icon in your recipe on the right, then click the chef hat to start cooking

the warm, hot, toasty, scorching indicators just tell you how hot it is, but it won't ever cook the old way anymore

So what happens when I eat meat which is cooked the old way? Will it be like as if I ate raw meat?

I tried the new method, but after a minute or so my meat disappeared from the grill.....??? Hmm....well after a few trials I think I'm gettin' the hang of it......still poorly cooked but that's probably because I didn't use any salt or pepper.

Did you left the area or do you where nearby ?

I stood by the grill all the time. Time by the way is confusing: grilled meat is said to cook perfect at 8 minutes, but if I start a grilled meat recipe the "microwave ui" starts at 13 minutes. So which one is it?
SixPack May 20, 2023 @ 2:49am
Oh I guess it's to allow for overcooking......ha ha
SixPack May 20, 2023 @ 2:50am
Well I grilled the meat for 8 minutes, but it still gives me nausea when I eat it......says "poorly cooked".
SixPack May 20, 2023 @ 2:59am
Cooked a bit longer, until the green bar appeared.....still poorly cooked, but now it gives two stars and it doesn't make me nauseated when I eat it.....so I guess my cooking skills are improving..................

Might be cooking skill related. Higher skill lets you cook food quicker, so maybe at high skill it'll be 8 minutes.
