That really depends on whether you use the properties of the cartridges. These cartridges are very well suited for various different combat situations.
Tracer is very efficient in air defense, for example, because once you have locked onto the target, you can use it to give other shooters a direction. Also, this type of ammo is capable of distracting puppets. This is particularly noticeable on the .22 rifle.
Armor-piercing ammunition is particularly useful in heavily guarded areas. This ammunition can penetrate even stronger targets. For example, I use them to penetrate metallic targets to significantly injure or even kill the targets behind.
Standard ammunition is best suited for everyday use. It is usually the main ammo and is good enough for many environments.
You can fill a mag even with a Sequence. Players have already brought up great tipps. One of them is to Fill the First 3-5 Bullets with Tracers. If you Mag is close beeing empty you will notice it by the Tracers.
So it really depends on whether and how you use them. If you don't use these now in the appropriate situations, you can also sell them to earn a little extra. In conclusion, it depends very much on your own playing style. :)
i know what each bullet can do and for now seems like the "standard" (fmj) ones are just useless since Tracer ones are exactly the same + one extra feature...
while we just lack HP completely...
the question remains....why we have "duplicates" when we can have diversity??
personally i would keep FMJ's as crafted ones...or reloaded, just like IRL...you can reload your own standard ammo...
also, the second part is still open..
what about large calibers which allow more complex bullets?
Hardly useless. You're only looking at it from one perspective. I find the standard bullets also have one extra feature...they don't point directly back at you for any nearby players. They can get an idea from the sound, but if you're in cover you can still disengage with a far smaller chance of having to do it in a hail of return fire concentrated directly on you.
As for the second question, that would be up to the devs. They do add new weapons, etc from time to time. Maybe drop some you'd like to see in the suggestions sub.
