This game has been held up by the raiding community that continues to play and support the game. Look at the top servers on battlemetrics: 9 out of 10 of them are PvP servers and all but two are high loot and/or bot shop servers.
The raiding mechanic is almost exclusively based around lockpicking. If you can't lockpick, you can't ever access wardrobes. Often when you're blasting into a base you still need to pick a few doors.
Lockpicking is the mechanic for stealing cars. Imagine now when everyone can protect their car with a combination lock, and players have to sit there and guess the combination. People won't do it, they'll just quit.
There is no skill to the combination lock mini game. It's pure random chance and brute force. Lockpicking was a skilled game and players aspired to be good at it.
Lockpicking is tedious and unrealistic, I don't think anyone involved in the development of the game has ever even attempted to pick a lock in real life. In real life the pick doesn't just snap itself after a certain amount of time. It should be based on the amount of pressure applied rather than some arbitrary amount of time.
And nobody said you have to? It's a survival game not a raiding game.
I was talking about not being able to craft with advanced engineering or able to purchase the dial lock. But found that they added the admin spawnitem for the dial lock.
I as of yet have not found a dial lock in game .
I did not say I spawned one I said I can.
I admin two servers and I play on an official!
So go hate some where else!
This group of people you are referring to (raiders and pickers) that are keeping the game going are playing the game based on its more rudimentary systems. Its PVE focused survival game that is under construction, not a completed pvp battle royal game. The PVP elements are just the first ones implemented. They aren't the basis for the game.
So no, pickers have little if anything to do with holding the game together. In fact i would go as far as to say this significant nerf to picking will likely cause the population to grow over time rather than shrink.
THIS ^^^^
i checked the traders don't have them.
because you spent time on a crappy mechanic =)
time for you to stop playing scum i guess, or do you have the scum addiciton too?
The game was not balanced, it was way too much time to put together locks, chests and then a way to long to secure them, than it was to find some screwdrivers and bobby pins and go through the locks like a hot knife through butter-not to mention the players that use macros to lock pick.
Your game play style needs to change. No more run and gun!
Yes the fatigue needs to be tweaking they come in hard on everything and then dial it back from the feed back, they already said as much from the hand abrasions.
I looted the entire boot camp and I then needed 5 minutes of being still and my fatigue went away.
If you walk you are ok, if you jog, run, melee fight you are exerting yourself and therefore getting tired so it makes sense to have some fatigue in the game requiring downtime-it just needs balancing like everything else they add in.
