Washing & Soap
I have encountered ZERO necessity for washing the clothes and body with soap, except when coming out of C0 sector. How long does it take for skin infections to develop?

AFAIK, dirty clothes only cause infections if your character has been wounded (just like IRL).
Radiation is a completely different ball game, as it can harm an otherwise healthy character (just like IRL again).

But where is the penalty for never washing? Ordinarily, this would be a person's stench, but that isn't simulated in the game.

I find it useless because the fresh clothes get dirty again too damn fast!

You can clean rags with it so they are cleaner and safer for patching yourself up if you have bleeding injuries. Basically for removing the risk of developing infections if you get injured on that body part. If you think that there is more that we can do with this, please leave a suggestion in the respective discussion board which our devs are looking over regularly or leave a suggestion via our official support system - https://support.scumgame.com/

Let me add here something. If you wanna craft antiseptic bandages from rags, you can only disinfect them with high%alcohol if they are 50% or less dirty, so I would keep soap for cleaning dirty rags.

I think I've seen several suggestions already to make more use of the soap (and to not get sick). For ex. the need to take a shower/bath at least once a week (lol). We could use the bathtubs inside prefabs or craft a shower inside the base using the rain collectors as water supply

soap would need a rework, currently washing clothes on you costs far to much to be a viable thing to do, instead run 100 percent dirty all the time which seems to fly in the face of what you should have to manage.

i'd suggest the devs to look at how much soap costs to wash your clothes versus how much it costs to clean dirty rags and/or how often you find soap.

also the rate at which clothes get dirty seem to be a bit high, so if you do wash them they are dirty so quickly again you have just wasted the soap that could have cleaned some rags.

could you like maybe, make it that I do not need FOUR BARS OF SOAP to clean a single article of clothing? that's the one thing that has been annoying me about the game aside from not being able to build multistory ramps
