Asian Encroachment on American servers
I understand this topic will probably become controversial for reasons of modern correctness culture...its ok and I don't care. So save your comments about racism, you won't persuade me.

If what I'm saying here offends anyone I would encourage you to ignore the labels used and simply look at the stated facts in the context of enjoying the game.

That said....

The west coast servers have for all intent and purposes been completely hijacked by asian players. The former ping lock level has become obsolete because of improved server performance. This has resulted in a flood of players from asia and as such a flood of cheating. To be 100% clear here....I am not saying ALL asian players cheat....But the frequency of cheating increases in direct relation to the asian population on any given server. That relationship is undeniable. The result of this is the asian players who cheat spend all their time working to drive local players off the server...and they do. What this now means is if I as a west coast player want to play the game without this issue i need to play on a central or east coast server to get away from them. This now means that i have to deal with higher ping rates and more severe de-sync which pretty much makes me not want to play at all. This is a very serious issue that must be addressed, If this means lowering the ping lock or doing some kind of region lock then that MUST happen. Its absolutely unacceptable that players cannot play on their most local servers because they are effectively harassed to the degree that its untenable to remain on the server. Asian players have Asian servers to play on so no one loses here but the cheaters.

In addition to the cheating there is a continuous spam in global of foreign language because the asian players cannot use discord. This is disruptive and annoying not to mention totally immersion breaking.

Before anyone says it....PRIVATE SERVERS ARE NOT THE ANSWER.

On a side note I would like to thank and commend the recent efforts of discord mods and admins who have been very responsive and taken quick action on cheater reports. This is a dramatic improvement over the past and its much appreciated. The reason for this post is because it seems clear that in spite of these greater efforts the cheating is still a daily event which clearly indicates a stronger measure is needed. Its great to see a more personal touch on this management of the cheating reports but its all being wasted right now and will continue to be until the spigot is turned off.

Lol, Oh boy this'll be a wild topic until it's locked.

It's a issue but the devs won't stop it because they already have a ping lock and if they can get past it they are allowed to play freely. The US pve server has been feeling the brunt of this annoyance for a while now, They've locked almost every building they can lock.

I guess you haven't read the threads of Official US east #1 and #3 getting attacked by... flying cars that go through walls,
gun fire through the walls,
wooden arrow (just the wood) killing with head shots-THROUGH THE WALLS,
player bases getting emptied with no mines being set off,
player buried chests constantly being found,
players getting tracked all over the map and even having their names mentioned in chat.
__________
Believe me once they wreck the official servers they will come for the private servers...We already have had a few but we got to them before the damage was done!

Not that i should have to but its really quite simple.
I paid to play a game that is fun and functions, at a minimum, according to what would align with gaming industry best practices. I'm not looking to have my play arbitrated by some rando server owner.
The game needs to work in its pure form and this includes regulating play in a way that doesn't require me make a choice among bad choices.

Private servers are a band aid but not a cure and shouldn't be seen as such.

The ping lock needs to be lower then.

Oh I whole heartedly agree. Honestly, they should region lock the servers or unlock the Lan host so you can Host a dedicated server without paying for one.

It's annoying playing a pve server with 30+ people who are constantly not speaking English of any kind on a US server and locking every door they can because lolz we can /rant over.

it'd be nice if official servers would run so nicely, but with games in this kind of (dev) budget range, private servers being better manned to quickly ban cheaters and keep the place clean is just how it works. It's the same with Dayz. These problems need employees to solve them.

As i said,'....at a minimum, according to what would align with gaming industry best practices."

Because DayZ does something doesn't make that an industry standard. In fact its very much the opposite.

Best practices skims over budgets. Best practices might be your Call of Duty servers or something like that. Don't know why expectations which aren't even always met by AAA games are expected of games of this scale.

Citing Dayz was never an appeal to common practice, again I'm highlighting a budgeting issue.

Every country has servers within or nearby, so players on the other side of the world should not be able to connect to the servers that are intended for a different region.

And its that simple, that cut and dry.

Views are becoming so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soft, but there is something on the horizon that is going to change all that soon. And its unfortunate that the whole world is going to have to suffer.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

Here is the thing...that doesn't matter to me or anyone else who leaves their local server. Good business it producing a product that people enjoy using. If you have to hire more people to do that then you do it and just adjust pricing accordingly.

Its EA so these "issues" are priced in so that's not the argument I'm making here. I'm just disputing your notion of capitulating to the issue as apposed to making an appeal to think differently about solutions.

Okay but again, I'm still unclear why just playing on a private server isn't a solution. You're just picking the best server to play on. Why does it matter who hosts the server you play on?

You'll just have to use your imagination.

Blocking regions of the planet is not going to solve anything even if that were possible. As long as it’s easy to cheat people will cheat because HUMANS in general have no honor and integrity.

Find a solution to combat cheating software instead of blaming an ethnic group for your problems. Nationalism leads to fascism.

Yeah, you can check right off with that Nazi this, Fascism that bs.

It doesn't matter what reason, People from acrossed the ocean don't need to play on USA based servers regardless. So many factors hamper everyone's enjoyment when people with high ping play on servers they shouldn't.
