It's a issue but the devs won't stop it because they already have a ping lock and if they can get past it they are allowed to play freely. The US pve server has been feeling the brunt of this annoyance for a while now, They've locked almost every building they can lock.
gun fire through the walls,
wooden arrow (just the wood) killing with head shots-THROUGH THE WALLS,
player bases getting emptied with no mines being set off,
player buried chests constantly being found,
players getting tracked all over the map and even having their names mentioned in chat.
__________
Believe me once they wreck the official servers they will come for the private servers...We already have had a few but we got to them before the damage was done!
I paid to play a game that is fun and functions, at a minimum, according to what would align with gaming industry best practices. I'm not looking to have my play arbitrated by some rando server owner.
The game needs to work in its pure form and this includes regulating play in a way that doesn't require me make a choice among bad choices.
Private servers are a band aid but not a cure and shouldn't be seen as such.
Oh I whole heartedly agree. Honestly, they should region lock the servers or unlock the Lan host so you can Host a dedicated server without paying for one.
It's annoying playing a pve server with 30+ people who are constantly not speaking English of any kind on a US server and locking every door they can because lolz we can /rant over.
it'd be nice if official servers would run so nicely, but with games in this kind of (dev) budget range, private servers being better manned to quickly ban cheaters and keep the place clean is just how it works. It's the same with Dayz. These problems need employees to solve them.
Because DayZ does something doesn't make that an industry standard. In fact its very much the opposite.
Best practices skims over budgets. Best practices might be your Call of Duty servers or something like that. Don't know why expectations which aren't even always met by AAA games are expected of games of this scale.
Citing Dayz was never an appeal to common practice, again I'm highlighting a budgeting issue.
And its that simple, that cut and dry.
Views are becoming so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soft, but there is something on the horizon that is going to change all that soon. And its unfortunate that the whole world is going to have to suffer.
Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
Its EA so these "issues" are priced in so that's not the argument I'm making here. I'm just disputing your notion of capitulating to the issue as apposed to making an appeal to think differently about solutions.
Okay but again, I'm still unclear why just playing on a private server isn't a solution. You're just picking the best server to play on. Why does it matter who hosts the server you play on?
Find a solution to combat cheating software instead of blaming an ethnic group for your problems. Nationalism leads to fascism.
Yeah, you can check right off with that Nazi this, Fascism that bs.
It doesn't matter what reason, People from acrossed the ocean don't need to play on USA based servers regardless. So many factors hamper everyone's enjoyment when people with high ping play on servers they shouldn't.
