Godmode doesn't make you invulnerable, it lets you insta build for free and opens doors.
one of my usual routes is through the Silent City. The goal is sometimes different. I'm either there for the power plant when I'm looking for new materials for ammunition or my way leads me through the adjacent bunker. With the city, this is always there in the radius and offers a lot of loot.
Personally, I think the city is really beautifully implemented. Vehicles and hastily abandoned places in addition to the actual ambience of the shop to take a good look at the whole thing.
Even small localities with interesting loot can often be found here and on many corners. So yesterday, after a long tinkering and building, I drove in with a heavily armored WW. It always makes a nice difference whether you walk or drive and thanks to the gas station there was a good starting position. Thanks to the armored vehicle, a lot of goods could also be picked up here, which are now waiting for a while in the decontamination warehouse to be picked up when needed. (Actually just a simple wooden shed near the entrance to the irradiated zone.)
The city thanked me in a very elaborate style when I was able to leave the city with a complete M82, thanks to the bunker, and an AK15 (without attachments). Even if the almost 20kg heavy rifle will only remain a pretty decoration, this powerful weapon is very rare. Of course ammo was on the crafting list, especially my Kar98 was starting to get hungry. With the lost property in the city, around 120 shots could be made in the end, 40 of which are CRAP style.
Sometimes I'm only there for the ambience and looking around. Next on the list is a drive through without protective gear to assess the consequences and assess the potential for danger when moving in the outskirts.
I was in there today ... just having brief wander around to see what its like. Didn't go to the abandoned bunker or check any shops (didn't know where to find them) but was wandering around long enough to kill about 20 puppets .... no hazmat, no gas mask, no charcoal, no Geiger counter, and suffered absolutely zero radiation symptoms, gear didn't gear irradiated either. Sorta never got past the housing blocks on the lower northeast side, but still, was in the think of the fog. Was I supposed to be affected?
It depends on the Radiation around you. On the modernized geiger counter you can see the values which are Okayish for the traveling inside of the area. As long as you are in the good values of radiation there is nothing you need to worry about (theoretically) but, there are sometimes small places with higher radiation levels which can then cause radiation sickness if you are too long in this said area. Here the Geiger counter, regardless which one, can help you to avoid such heavy radiated areas and lead you through the Sector even without the protective suit.
