"if i cant beat em join em"
"im going to use any advantage i can"
"i dont have time to play a game normally"
"it makes the game better"
"im bored of the normal game"
or what ever excuse people come up with but that wont change till some sort of really intrusive anti cheat is common place.. even then there will be some but i get the not wanting to allow anticheat access deep in the computer... but at this point... i could care less.
if it makes cheaters think about if they want to cheat before having to rebuy a WHOLE new pc EVERY time they cheat.. sure VM might still allow that to be by passed but less people will take the time to figure out how to use a vm
theres up and downs for each type of AC would be great if cheaters just didnt cheat though...

Only way to catch a cheater in a private server in for an admin to follow them around and watch their perspective. When a server has one or two admins you can imagine how bad things can get.
_____________
The logs tell those that have access who logs in and where. They tell who shoot whom from where. They tell what was bought and sold. Etc, etc.
:::::These are useful tools that an Admin can use to determine if there is legit game play.
>>>I in the drone witnessed and recorded a player get into a cabin with no lock picks at all a long time ago and sent that video to the dev team-they even asked me to keep it up don't delete it while they were studying it. They banned the player involved immediately as well as we also did.
I also banned a player twice that was spawning in his own gear and reported that to the devs also.
______
If you cheat on our servers, our admins at some point will catch and record and send the proof to the devs and they will also ban you.
::::::::::
If you are talking about bad admins whom themselves cheat Yes there are some out there that do.
I was in a squad that was raided by the admin of a server---nobody knew I was an admin from another server. When the proof was provided to the owner he did nothing.
_________
So our squad got that server shut down...
There are plenty of good private servers out there, with fantastic admins-some even post the admin logs into their discord!
I'm talking ESP which is particularly hard to capture or prove as you literally have to follow someone around and watch their perspective. If they lock onto a buried chest or a player hiding with no indication that anything is there it's a sign they are using ESP. I had someone from the top squad in the #3 server on Battlemetrics openly talk about how he could see my headshot percentage. Then when I was rolling with them he was telling everyone where the enemy was. How are you suppose to prove that aside from recording them or following them around? Where are the logs?
Watch the "Wiggle" video from Goat. It's about Tarkov but just as relevant.
If you suspect unauthorized software or hacks are being used, please report them as described in the Cheater Report System .
Reports will be reviewed and your active participation will not only help to get to the bottom of the mechanics but also to take appropriate action. The developers are actively involved in the fight against illegal activities.
EAC works independently and is an automated process; admins do not need to evaluate any logs related to EAC. However, there are game logs that are available in the dashboard of the corresponding host and can also show indicators if something went wrong. These can therefore contribute to the identification of an unauthorized intervention/Problems.
You can get help in this regard via SCUM Support[scum.help.jagex.com] and also report unauthorized behavior here.
