Terrible is not a good enough word, horrendous might be better.
I have played or watched other EA games with much smaller amount of devs have better melee combat in them.
>Receive one (1) open-handed slap
>Bleeding injury right foot
>Bleeding injury stomach
>Bleeding injury left arm
>Bleeding injury head
>All clothing items lose 30% health
>Backpack loses 25% health
Yeah that ♥♥♥♥♥ is messed up, razors I understand but grabbers ? two to three hits and the gear is down to 70.... makes alot of sense.... add 5 on you and gear is done for.
Are you playing on official that seams higher damage than vanilla
Maybe one day, I hope the devs can give us a status update on puppets hopping through windows. would make fights more interesting.
Singleplayer, I avoid official servers never ends well, never cared for multiplayer... my set up is vanilla aside for slightly higher chance loot, and altered the threshold of noise abit for bunkers but that's about it... I dont get ganged alot or often but when the spawning in bunkers decides to mess up and just starting popping up i doesn't take long before I get ganged up... so damage might look more than what it is.. but still I find it senseless that hands can tear through military clothing like nothing...
Puppets weren't touched in a while and hence their melee attacks weren't changed for now.
I'm not sure of the numbers, but in my experience, there have been times I've taken substantial damage to body and gear in official and community servers alike with just a hit or two. Sometimes not. I think it varies.
Generally I've combated it with not letting the freaks get close enough...lol. Doesn't always go to plan though when they spawn close to you already aggro'ed or clip through everything. ;)
I fight in a very simple but common way. When a Z comes running at me I hit then step back. So he can not hit me. Then I step forward while doing the next attack and step back again. I simply do forward, back, forward back in rythm style.
If you do that and watch the Zombie while you fight them you can see that 2 things will happen. Not every time you fight but very commonly. First they will do one grab attack short after beeing hit from the player. Even though they should be stunned or thrown back in that situation. If you then stand close they will hit you and make you bleed.
The other one is that you will encounter that at least one of your spear attacks will go right through them. As if they are ghosts. And when this happens, most people will stand close because of the players forward attack and they Zombies will hit the player and make him bleed.
The ghost attacks are the worst because you can not prepare for those, you hit, the zed is not stunned and will hit you right back. Before you can even make a step back.
Something affected them if even unintentional.
Their movement is jerky.
They at times appear to teleport.
You get hit when your not even near.
They agro a lot more easier.
They have been come real quite at times.
Their screams even if you are looking at them seem in other directions.
The first three normally could be explained by a high or higher ping which I normally do not have on the servers I admin nor the ones I play on.
However it has become worse and not from my end!
In the drone I observer our players quite often and I see this happening to them as well.
The settings of the new bunkers are also buggy, cause they also affect the puppets.
