Most of the bunkers have been turned into abandoned bunkers.
The placement of the abandon bunkers and keeping the original in the sectors that they are makes no sense.
HOW does that add anything to the background, to the story yet to be told.
You have abandon bunkers scattered, were the other bunkers built to help keep them secured , to help save the population in the towns and cities, to help contain what is in them.
Furthermore if Brenner can open doors why does he stay, after all there are a bunch of prisoners to snack on running around!

If there is actually any kind of story being built behind why things are this way and what happened.......then the random placement of the bunkers makes no sense.
So every Military Camp in a Country makes no Sense..... Thats Basicly what you are saying xD Not every Military Facility is only build because of Strategic Value Dude. A lot of them are Build for different Reasons. Just some Examples: Provide faster Response in Terms of Attacks, Revolutions of any Kind and such, To enact the Gouvernments Authority and Power (since this Bunkers are full of Puppets we can at least assume, they werent build by the Once organizing/producing the "Scum Tv Show", even if they are, the reason stays the same), they are Build for Defensive Reasons, so that you can detect or defend your Area and provide direct resistance against hostile take over attempts, and so on and on.....
I am a decorated combat vet I know what bunkers are built for.
My Uncle was at Pearl Harbor During the attack on Pearl Harbor.
My Father was shot down in Combat while being a turret gunner in a B24 during WWII
My eldest brother served in Vietnam.
So you should understand why there are so many Bunkers on a Island.
Not that it matters that you are a Vet, and even less what your Family Members Fight in any Kind of Wars. But if you wanna bring History into it, you should also know how we Germans Flood the Whole of Europe more or less with Bunkers and Military Structures or how the Japanese did that on basicly each Island they owned/occupied.
So either i total missunderstood your reasoning here, or it truely makes no Sense, because i dont get why you would think the Position/Scattering or the Existince of the Bunkers on the Island making no Sense.

We had until .9 the older bunker style.
Now we have the abandon bunker also.
2 types of bunkers.
What is the story line behind having two different bunkers.
Were the small ones placed to protect assets from what happened in the abandoned bunkers.
If so then their placement seems wrong to me.
You protect civilian locations or poi's, which could be many things even historical national monuments.

We used to have 3 tech01 posts on the island and two were removed!
To me it seems they put stuff in just because they want to and there is little thought about how, why, where!

The WW!! bunkers make more sense, since they protect the coast and the hinterland; that's okay; what we don't know is how both Tec01 bunkers fit into all this and what's the Duga Radar got to do with it. Also some of the old bunkers have a radar tower too.
Yeah, we have the wall and we have the buoys, but I think they just mark the borders for the game area, nothing more.
One of our admins got his drone flying around outside and there's not really anything interesting; no trees, roads, villages, etc.
A long time ago I took the drone....you can also in single player and looked over the wall north and east.
our 25 sectors is about 1/4 the map...
The engine atm cannot be pushed farther to make the land bigger from a previous dev statement.
beyond the z sectors towards the south is also another land mass.
Yes we have no story line at all. All we can do is jump to our own conclusions.
Why the different bunkers the regular and the abandoned is what I would like to know!
Why the pattern of them-makes no sense to me at all.
For now I'd see it like a movie stage, it's all the background.
And like I said, the bunkers don't have to make sense, for now that is; we will see how all this fits together when we get the story.
Still thinking it's some sinister reason for the bunkers to be distributed like they are.
It was more of a choice where to leave functional bunkers, we still were deciding if we will keep normal bunkers during the development or block them off. :)
