Trying to understand the buried box concept in the game.
So what is the point of burying a box and when you hide the shovel it will only de-spawn?

In real life there are many ways to access a hidden box without a shovel. You dig a hole and put a container in it. You place a cover over the hole and bury it. You can access you box without the need of a shovel. Just lift the hole cover and put it back.

There is no real need to show a bump in the ground.

Sometime we create cache in tree stumps or under a tree stump.

The fact that you need shovel to manage a hidden cache make no sense. You would never expect a person to walk around with a shovel to access your caches in real life.

It would be very nice if we could mark our hidden caches on the map.

Maybe I am missing something here.

Most hidden caches are water proof bags, plastic bags and plastic tot containers. We don't use wooden boxes because they are not water proof.

The devs could add plastic garbage bags so we can cover our caches with them. Only use the shovel to dig the hole and use small stick for the hole top.

I have another one :
What is the point of hiding a chest when someone who does not know its location can stumble on it/come across on it and be prompt to unburry something that he is ignoring the existence of it ...?

On pvp servers if you build a base it will eventually get raided.
If you have a car it eventually will get stolen.
Burying a chest simply means it takes longer for other players to find your loot-they can always get lucky and be near enough to see the bump, use a metal detector to find it, or even be following you and watching from a distance as you undig-place gear in and rebury your chests!

That prompt is asinine. It's gotta be a bug, right?
