I could use some Car Repair Tips (Too)

I found 2 cars (two different, but close by towns) Both are missing 2 wheels; one is missing Engine Stuff; but has an Engine; the other, No Engine. I figured (Assuming) I can use the Wheels from one for the other (am also Assuming I need to find a Jack). But after that; I'm not real sure what I'm doing.

Any help would be great.

You need an engine, gasoline and a battery to start the car.
You need an alternator to charge the battery while driving.
You need 3 tires to drive it or all 4 tires.
You need a car jack to place many parts on the ride.
You need a driver seat in the car.
Place jack in hands and hold f for service vehicle.
You need a car repair kit to install, remove parts and of coarse to repair it.

You can't use wolfswagen wheels on a laika and vice versa. Best way is to find a car that has an engine and driver seat. Then search for the missing parts and car jack in garages. The best way to get an alternator is to find and remove it from another car. Car seats f.ex. don't fit in backpacks, but wheels do in the hiking backpack (2 of it).

Good to know that the parts don't Mix-Match -- Thanx Mate; but learned the hard way that parts don't fit in backpacks :(... Not Surprised, but still... Dang!!!

Another problem is I'm travelling by boat... and nothing fits in the Boat either; including a Mini-Fridge; and since I posted on an Island... I'm Screwed :(.

Yes the Devs (you guys) recently changed this.
The OP is fairly new at the game so as precaution to remove possible confusion later it was best to assume you need it for all.
During his game play he will learn as all of us have to do when and where a carjack is required!

Not sure, but maybe you can move a stash/chest on a boat?

I wasn't aware a Chest Could be Moved! As well... I have no idea how to move one: Just tried HOLDING F for Menu options; also tried building a chest on the boat; no go for either :(.

So if it can be done; how would it be done?

Open the inventory and grab it with the mouse or drag it from the vicinity inventory to another place.
Like that it can even be placed in a car trunk (move it on the car symbol).

does the boat have a weight limit, it can bob up and down with just a player in it, i don`t want to put a 405kg chest in a boat and watch it sink, actually i do but is there a weight limit to boats.

I was actually just about to Whine & Complain about living on an Island... and start looking for a new place to build a New Base... but *Woot* *Woot*... it does work. The Crate takes up the entire space of the boat... but it does fit!!!

@Ferret: I'll have to check to see if there will be Weight Issues.... but that should only limit the amount I can pack up... not the size; so again... *Woot* :)

I was planning on building a small outpost on the mainland, so with this info... I can start working on that now for Transporting Items To and From!!!

:`( I danced too soon :(.

So... with renewed hope, I went back out scavenging... in hopes of finding another Mini-Fridge... and Literally, the second pace I looked had one. With Glee in my heart I lugged it back to my boat... off-loaded the crate... only to find that; while the Fridge technically can FIT in the Crate; apparently you're not allowed to put in the crate :(.

It's still nice having the extra space for the boat... but I guess I'm backing to looking for a new Base of Operations on the Mainland :`(.

Ohhhh... Woe is Me! :(

You playing Singleplayer or Multiplayer?
So you want a refrigerator in your island base? Can't you drop it on the boat like the crate? Or in multiplayer ask someone to hold it while you drive the boat. I could help if you don't want to reveal your position to someone else on your server.

I'm playing single player; but I gotta say, it's kind'a Cool that in MP you can just have someone hold it, and ride along :).
