Later on when you have more money you can buy the gold card 5000 and then gold.
Gold has 2 purposes.
1. It is used for shelter respawn.
2. It is supposed to remain on your account across a soft wipe so you can sell it back and have some starting money after the soft wipe.
-------
Hard wipe= everything is gone including your character.
Soft wipe= character stats, skills and gold remain but all gear-bases-owned rides wiped.
I only play single player, so I'm not worry about others; but again... Good to Know!!!
I don't even want to Think about a Hard Wipe :(. But I'm glad to be hearing about now; so, at least, I'm more Mentally Prepared should it happen. ;(
So I take it; I can buy (and sell) Gold (I'm assuming, at the bank) with Cash to protect against a Soft Wipe; but otherwise I'd have to change it back to Cash for purchases?!? I only made about $800 with the Junk I sold, so it will be a while before I have that kind of money. Someone suggested selling cars... but finding them is turning into a bit of a Challenge LoL.
As also... Massive Thanx for the Info Mate... Very Helpful!!!
Put the starter card in a chest or something, use it to deposit cash at the ATMs or if you head for the trader. One way to not lose it.
You'll find cash in pharmacies (register) and the small brick built food markets (register, flat brown building with some shelves), also gas stations.
Searching through mattresses can also be worthwhile. :)
For multiplayer it changes with the number of players buying and selling.
It also is supposed to go down in price prior to an update to encourage it's buying!
Here is an example
You buy gold for 1000
Later on you need to sell that gold cause you see something you want.It will drop to 750 though for the buy back.
I thought the bankers in real life were greedy ouch!
BLACK CARD = 1 digit of security. i.e. this is everybody's card. You'll be buying this until you have a set of wheels and a base, maybe a few extra grand laying around. The 1 digit pin means about 30% some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ will guess in 3 attempts and completely bankrupt you if you don't make it back to the bank to cancel the card before they make it to any ATM to withdrawl your money. You can buy these both at the Bank trader for $100 and at ANY ATM! Let me say that again.
YOU CAN BUY THIS CARD AT ANY ATM FOR $100. It doesn't work like this IRL but in SCUM it does. Have $300 on your person but are in the middle of the map in B2 town, go to the ATM there, spend $100, and deposit the other $200. Cut up the card right after. Unless you are buying gas or in the trader. After you buy gas it is a good idea to cut up this card.
GOLD CARD = Rich ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ card. 2 digits of security means unless you pick 69 for your security card, it is pretty secure, with only a 3% someone is going to guess your pin in 3 chances. Meaning you don't really need to cut this card up after using and you can carry it since they probably won't be able to guess the pin. It costs $5,000 and you can only get it at the Bank Trader.
Most players most of the time will be using the BLACK card. If you use it properly you won't ever really need a gold card unless you plan to convert your funds to gold or you need to make a lot of gas purchases and plan to roam around outside the safe zones with the card.
@All Others... Major thanx for the Information; GREAT Stuff... Thanx Mates!!!
