How do you stop puppets from spawning near bases?
I'm playing single-player, and I just started building a base, but now there is literally like 20 fkn puppets spawning near base constantly, and it's enough to make me quit playing unless I can either turn them the fk down, or turn off puppets spawning near bases.

Hi OP! To avoid puppets spawning inside your flag area while building next to premade buildings you should disable this setting in your server settings "SPAWN ENCOUNTERS IN THREAT ZONES IGNORING BASE BUILDING".

In server settings under one of the tabs (can't remember which one) there's a npc settings, turn down the amount of puppets spawning in world.

Bad luck building next to a spawner I guess...
Nothing I'd know of to prevent them from spawning next to a base ...

Sadly you can't stop exterior puppets from spawning with a flag without disabling or reducing all their spawns,

If you want a completely puppet free base you'll probably need to build away from town. I've only seen a few prefab places that are free of puppet spawns and those are normally tiny and don't have fridge's.

I started building no where near a town. It's like a min or two car drive in all directions to get to just about any prebuilt building. I'm building a base literally off a dirt road by a river. When I was looking for the location I hadn't spotted a single puppet in the entire area. The moment I put a flag down 2 spawned inside the radius. I killed them, and continued building. After 20mins I went back to the dirt road where the car was, and there was 9 puppets there. I died cause I wasn't expecting it. Finally got back, and nothing was there. Started building again, went back up to the car after another 15mins, and there had to have been atleast 15 of them. I just alt f4'd at that point. I hate these sort of mechanics they r just a cheap gimmick.

Ya not sure what's going on but that sounds more like a bug or a really bad location.

If you're in single player, I would just use the command: godmode true and build a new base some where else.

Puppets should not spawn within flag area. It seems like a bug, will check it out.

_________
They do wander in through your walls and barbed wire...

They will still spawn within a flag zone it happens all the time.
If you board up all the windows and lock all the doors they don't spawn in a prefab but they will walk through the walls like the walls are not even there!

Confirming. Flag does not stop puppet spawns, and hasn't ever done this since I've been playing. (0.6).

I once had a base in and around a church. Locking doors and boarding up windows stopped the interior spawns, but outside they'd constantly spawn in the usual places within and without my walls. They phase through the player-built walls unless aggro'd.

Now, that would be a new one for me as well. o_O
I always wished and suggested it to be this way, but never was.

Oh, how does it work exactly? From what I've noticed while playing SP flags do affect spawn points. But it seems its is not 100% all over the place. For example on open fields it seem to be ok, and flag does it's job. But if there is a building inside flag zone which have puppets spawn point, flag can be completely ignored by them. At 1st I thought flag working only on 1 level(floor) so puppets who have spawns on different floors will keep spawning according server settings, but recently I got 2 puppets spawn in same spot about 5m away from flag and base inside building on same level as flag. I mean for casual SP it is quiet inconsistent & confusing. My game version is 0.96 experience, and just 1 example from area of Motorbike Track at the building at west-south around: {X=281134.531 Y=-754283.188 Z=11524.637|P=325.160156 Y=284.667969 R=0.000001}. While flag is placed few meters away behind the wall at: {X=282670.562 Y=-754337.188 Z=11522.143|P=311.567749 Y=135.565231 R=0.000001}. This is not a single situation like that. I mean doing various stuff at my small base formed of bunch of chests, workbench and car parts on the edge of some random settlement and getting knocked on my back by some random puppet spawned few netters behind me while I'm doing my regular activities, listening some podcast... I rly hate when its happening. So I ended up cranking puppet spawn settings to something around 20% of normal... yeah, whole game map is pretty empty now, but at least I'm not getting disturbed so frequently, while chilling at my base. I know ppl may say something like "this game is not for you, go play something else" and bla bla bla. I'm not going debate this, since I rly liked this game. Its just a bit sad I don't have option to set

This option have a sense, and seem to have some effect, but for me it is set to OFF from beginning. And still rarely puppets keep spawning almost near(5-10m) away of flag inside building. What function in this matter flag delivers? Does it alone counts as override zone that prevents spawning? Or there are some certain elements I've suppose to build, to make it count as "player's base" zone? I have option for multiply flags per player turned on. So in 2 locations on the edges of settlements in border buildings everything seemed to be fine, but on 3rd one my flag seems to be ignored.
