I'm living off crafted ammo and don't have any jams so far.
oh ok so thats the ingredients for 1 bullet. got it. I'll remember that now. thank you.
Cool thanks for the info. :) So what do I do with the lead plates that have 4 or less uses on them? Do I just toss them? I can't seem to combine them after I get to that point.
You can use them in filling blueprints for upgrades or BB elements that require them.
You also need to be in the room with a drill press, it wasn't mentioned but I'm sure you know that.
What I used to do would be to throw lead plates far from me to other side of tool shed room once on 4 or less coz it was frustrating that the crafting would try to use those still and not craft anything. After, you can pick them up if you want them.
Yeah it is frustrating and you can't really select what resources you want when in the crafting menu. Nor is there an indication on the screen that shows which one is lacking.
When that happens I usually just drop the resource on the ground next to me. Since crafting prioritizes whats in your inventory over vicinity. I hope you weren't taking the time to toss it out range. That would be incredibly frustrating.
If you craft them at a lathe they don't jam. If you craft them at improvised benches, they have a chance to jam or misfire.
I've had several jams and misfire recently with a bought M9 pistol with 100% durability. Is it also a skill level thing? I have basick handgun skill atm. From crafted bullets at a drill press and trader bought bullets.
Doesnt make sense if an improvised workbench, which is gated behind a higher skill level to build, would cause crafted bullets to jam. You'd think leveling up your engineering skill to make one for the convenience of having one in base wouldn't cause issues. Is this a pvp balance thing?
Handgun skill doesn't have an effect on jams. Just reload speed, chambering speed, reduced recoil, reduced time to aim down sights, and reduced weapon sway.
The condition of the bullet is what matters here regardless where you acquired it. If the bullet in question is at 50% or below condition, it will likely jam or cause a misfire. At 10% or lower it always misfires. I used to sell weapons in game and would chamber a round with around 3% condition left. This way if people tried to pull a fast one and kill me and take the product, I would have plenty of time to kill them with no issue. It's never failed me in over 50 in game transactions.
As for the improvised workbench, at the end of the day it's not a high end workbench that you would find in a factory. It's a janky workbench we put together with a drill and a rebar cutter. Can't expect top quality ammunition crafting from it. Plus I think that would give too much of an advantage to ammo crafters. We'd be totally safe in our wooden shacks crafting premium ammo. I think the devs wanted players to have some risk if they were going to craft premium ammo.
Okay that was one of the schools of thought I had on it. Thanks for the reply. And yes makes total sense.
