Buying Phoenix Tears, Screwdrivers, etc.
There should be a way for admins to set up a round the clock vendor for selling items that you can't normally buy, and not having to have an admin stop what they are doing so a player can buy the items.

I'm 50/50 on the idea. However, if it was implemented it should be something like a black market trader the buys things like Keycards and only accepts gold as a currency.

thats kinda what i thought as well

Most of the items in the game you can already add to the corresponding trader over economy.json files, all tho I do not recommend that as those items are extremely rare and take effort to acquire.

you can not buy screwdrivers at all, tears don't belong with any of the merchants, on the server I'm on we have it set to where anyone can ask an admin for an item for a price that we determined. since we lowered the prices of all items in the game and made it to where you don't get much back on selling, it is fairly tough to raise the required 15k for tears or the 800 for a yellow screwdriver. we just want a way to make it easier on us admins. There should be an option to enable selling and buying "ALL" items is all Im trying to get at

anyone in single player or anyone running as admin on a server they hire, should be able to sell anything and everything they want without messing with json files, why does this game have to be like this, older players may not know what a json file and may not know how to alter one and we shouldn`t have too either, do the even know how program, but seriously why isn`t scum set up with in game options, altering ini and or json files isn`t what gamers should have to do, what is going to happen if scum is ever ported to consoles.

There are plenty of Turtorials on Youtube hot to set things up, this is only a problem if you have 0 urge to change it yourself and want everythign to be your way.
thats not the point, do you realize the frustration it takes to edit the prices of every single item, for every trader, in every outpost? it is a massive headache. it shoudnt be that way. what ferret is saying is very true, as a gamer i shouldnt have to know how to edit the program, i shouldnt have to know how to "code" and in the case of working on gportal i shouldnt have to worry if my quotation mark is good enough.

no you can't, if they dont sell an item in vanilla code then you can't make them. I have tried several different ways to make it so i can buy stuff that sellers do not normally sell even though they will buy said items

I did it myself on my GPortal server, it is pretty simple even if you have baerly anny knowlege like myself, took me less than an hour to set it up with almost every Item lID ued and even some more added to the traders.

What you want is not what the Devs have planned for the game, they simply don't want that everything is avaiable at the trader, but they were nice enough to give you the option to add whatever you want back to the trader, you can either do that yourself or ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan that it is too hard to copy paste a few Item Ids to a text document.
because copy and pasting nearly 2000 items is a walk in the park when you are trying to edit each individual price, and my bad it is 1923 items not including the mechanics services. and then you have to paste the correct items in the correct traders in the correct outpost. so yeah i guess copy and paste is such a great idea. also there is more to it than just putting the item ids. if you have actually edited your economy file you would realize that. and the point of this post was to say "hey devs, we would like to have control over something we have to pay for. we appreciate what you are doing so far and we arent demanding anything. just here is an idea to toy with to make our lives a little easier."

Can you set up traders to purchase things like Key Cards?
ccconvict Mar 2, 2023 @ 6:26pm
As far as I can tell there is no way to set up traders to buy or sell things they don't already do.
oynlengeymer Mar 2, 2023 @ 8:21pm
I would like if trader bought valid key cards, coz as a solo I dont attempt killboxes, but I think traders selling them or other rare items would not be a great idea as the large squads have all the money in the world already.

I'm not saying it should be a default thing, I just want an option to buy and sell the rare items. As I stated in the original post its frustrating to have to stop in the middle of something so i can help out the other players on our server. Don't take that as me saying I don't want to help, I am more than happy to help, I just have a bad habit of forgetting what I was doing
