Nuclear power plant radiation
I would like to see a poll about the Nuclear power plant radiation. Maybe something like
1. Go there frequently
2 Went there to check it out but, don't go much anymore.
3 Haven't been. Don't want to deal with the radiation and the effects of the radiation.

I would also like to hear people's thoughts on a force field around the plant like the one that used to be around the safe area so pretty much the entire section isn't radiated.
Personally I don't go to the entire section. I even stopped going to drops in D0 because I don't want to have to deal with the radiation going through C0.

Absolutely not worth the radiation. The loot quality is garbage compared to what you get. Crafting the CRAP ammo on vanilla servers probably isn't even worth it.

Firstly, you can't run in the hazmat suit. It's ridiculously tedious to loot the area at a jog pace. Secondly, the irradiated items are very, VERY annoying to deal with later on. The benefit just isn't worth it.

If they keep increasing the # of radiation zones throughout the game and make this a main game mechanic, I'll just quit. The devs keep taking this game in directions that aren't fun/enjoyable.

Haven't been there. Not worth the hassle imho. There's no good use for uranium as of yet and nothing else of value to get from there. And I absolutely dislike the fact that the WHOLE sector basically became a no-go zone.
Yes yes I know, one can deal with radiation and all your contaminated gear, but for what actually?
Maybe there's something upcoming in the long run that's making it worthwhile to visit those irradiated places but you won't see me there until then.

Even though i'm playing devil's advocate so far in this post, I agree the area currently is not worth it for loot and the reasons to go to the Nuclear Plant more than a few times are limited.

With that said, to call the whole sector a no-go zone feels like a widely spread misconception. A no-go for establishing a base, sure. As far as travelling through the zone, we do it multiple times a week with no protection, no cleanup required and no issues, you just need to not care about the "radiation presence". Hell, you can quickly clear the C0 bunker, which is in the radiated zone, using only a Potassium pill as countermeasure and not have to worry about much consequences afterwards, unless you stop for a picnic!

If you completely avoid travelling through the whole zone, avoid going to cargo drops nearby, avoid the bunker and gas station, you are doing it to yourself!

Yeah right. I did a few hit'n runs at some airdrops and driving through isn't lethal, I know that. Anyways, always getting an uneasy feeling coming near. My base is located in C1 and I avoid it like the plague going anywhere near the cursed sector. Don't want anything to do with it, if it's not absolutely necessary ;b

Is it viable to build a base inside the rad zone? Hmmmmm

Have you not seen the concept art of new creature npcs? Where do you think they might be placed? It will be underground in the irradiated areas. Tunnels caves etc and likely some stragglers on the surface . Hazmat npcs will likely be on the surface too.

I'ts weird to me people keep complaining about lack of this and that as if the game is in a finished state or something..

lmfao when did they make hazmat and uranium boxes cowbar able? i really doubt thats possible.

do you NOT read?. you should read this then
im one of the few people that truly understand what scum is and has been from the start

when i am critical of scum its DAMN RIGHT gonna be valid
and still holds true. nuclear plant is basicly USELESS ATM just stating a fact.
and if you really wanna go at it i would have suggested NOT to include the power plant until they had electrical ready to go or SOMETHING to make it less useless as it is right now if you ask me they pushed power plant BECAUSE the people that beach and moan
for more content and they pushed this out for those kiddos

Fully aware scums not finished and grasp why.
miss me with that "not understanding that scums not finished game"

It would be more interesting if the graphite appeared in random places in the radiation zone. It would be possible to find it with the help of a Geiger counter, he would make increased noise within 5-10 meters.

You can prevent any kind of radiation exposure by wearing hazmat suits.

Do traders sell those? No? Ok, then I'll likely never get my hands on one because I'm a lock picking idiot and force open doesn't work. ;b
Maybe if those lockers had the same tier of locks as the police station ones. ;)

A medium lock is quite doable even if you don't do the training. You just waste more resources. Bring 2-3 yellow screwdrivers and tons of pins, and you're fine.
And this without any help from special keyboards. Just lower the mouse DPI.

To get a "No items found" in 8 out of 10? Not enough screwdrivers in the game ;b

For me its a waste of mapspace.

If you know where to search for, you'll find them. Not that hard.
But you can use red ones too, you just need more inv. space.

Yea the radiation zone should be only where that weird smoke zone beginning. And would be nice to add Decontamination room into the bunker near it, instead of using Gadzillion pieces of soap lol. I mean in some aspects you going deep in details, like loading rounds into mag, but using just a soap for decontaminating..
CrankyOldMan Feb 27, 2023 @ 8:01am
I would like it very much if the rad zone was smaller only affecting the plant itself.
Also make it spookier like with a new type of mech-I mean you would think that this would be a place to have had them right.
Or maybe another puppet, one that is tied to that area alone. A real bad ass hard to kill, slow puppet that just hunts your ass down or some fast skinny easy to kill but come out of no where. One that would be stealthy and go for the back attack or jump from roofs-something.
