A case for Sherlock Holmes...

Ok, here's a strange one: been - kind of - raided. One gold-lock plus lock-protection still on the door, so they did not manage to open the door, right ?
So how did they get in ?
The more valuable crates have been looted, stolen or destroyed, incl my gold bank card.
My bank-account is empty. Lost 50.000+.
How did they manage to withdraw my money ? I thought it was PIN-protected...
The thing is: in real life you got like 3-5 wrong tries with the PIN-number, than your card gets withdrawn and the account gets blocked.
So you got infinite tries with the PIN for a stolen card from another player in this game ? Otherwise i cant explain how they got my money...
If that's true, than that whole bank-account-thing in this game is complete utterly b*llshit.

It's called cheating Watson.
Simple no-clip hack.
And afaik you get 3 tries to guess a simple two digit pin. Not too hard actually.

Yeah....I have had to investigate a couple players in game. Some peeps are real winners. Sherlock Holmes....eliminate all the non-possibles and what is left has to be the answer.

You made a mistake somewhere....some details. (from my time of some Officials) I have very rare issues now in my own private server.

- Chests....use Wardrobes with at least a Silver/Medium lock. If you do use a chest...wood or metal....make sure they are not placed near your building windows. These boxes can be moved if creative players can get near the windows.

- Doors will not last long so I simply leave them unlocked. Walls and gates are locked heavily but even then with offline raiding, may as well leave them unlocked too. Small chests can then be moved out.

- Cards....Gold card obviously....you state that...the 2 digit PIN is easy to break. Some peeps even use automation like AutoHotkey to break them....realistic use of automation too. Make sure to log out of the game with critical stuff on your person. Use the Waist Belt or Sporran for your critical stuff. Your body does not stay in game. Easy now since we need the card to pay for fuel. Mine is always on me.

- Only have 1 card active.

- Bury cash in a chest somewhere under a bush and screen clip the map and save that pic and name it. This is your back up emergency cash, drink, and food. Only dig it up at night too, rain/storm is best.

Best advice? Find a good server that fits your play style PvE/PvP that 100% has an active Admin that is fair. You can tell right away what type of server it is by just reading. Take your time finding one then log in and have fun. If you hear Global Chat being a bunch of Toxic Style Chat and that is not your style....move on to the next on your list. Great Admins will want to keep players and as such they will take an active part it governing their server.

Hey there OP, did you have your started card stored in one of the chests by any chance? If so that is most likely how they managed to take out all the money from your account.

Yes, i did store the card in a chest.
But the question is not where i store my card. They can get hands on my card when they kill me while online as easy as when in got it in a chest and they raid me.
The question is why the devs didn't implement any kind of security for the PIN: if someone who got his hands on a stolen card can have as many tries on the PIN as he wants, the PIN is USELESS !
In real live the card gets withdrawn after 3-5 tries and than it's over for any thief.
That's what i expected.

There are actually only 3 tries to guess the PIN after which your card will be canceled automatically.

Starter card you can take out the money with no pin, I have done it on a stolen starter card. So if they took that from you its easy. Once you get a gold one destroy the other.

If you only had a gold one it sounds more suspect, three tries and hit the right combo between 00-99 is very hard.
