We already pay for gas when we get it at the trader. It's at a trader so it's expected as far as I'm concerned. Am I the only one that thinks it's ridiculous to pay for gas at gas stations? What's next having to pay for the loot we get in poi's like the airport or naval yard or other places?

I respect your opinion. it is a change from how we have been doing things. I myself like it. After a short while you will find yourself swimming in cash so another cash sink is nice. I've always wondered why we had gas at gas stations anyway, its not like we have tanker trucks visiting the stations and refueling them every week. Gas should be much rarer.

Wery happy about the gas can be ajusted on price. A loot more easy to manage the supply and demand on my server. Now gasoline will be more valuable and not a 'unlimited' thing.

The cash isn't the issue. I have plenty of it. It's the idea of paying for things out in the wild when all we do is loot everything. If you wondered why we have gas stations. Or question the stations being refueled what about loot respawning? who goes around every time a player leaves an area and restocks the loot so it can be looted again? Who goes around and keeps the roads maintained? Especially in the snow areas where the wind should cover the roads with snow drifts. Who maintains all of the gardens and orchards in the game. Especially since we have a garden now and have to spend so much time maintaining it. As far as I'm concerned the plants die way too fast and the garden requires way too much maintenance. I've already leveled up to advanced just taking care of my garden.

I watch Youtube videos of players that when they go to the gas stations have a very limited quantity of gas available. I had one content creator tell me they didn't get a vehicle because there wasn't enough gas available to be able to drive it. It can be made not a "unlimited" thing other ways besides having to pay for it.

Yes it can. But hard on a small server like i have. Olmost no matter how low respawn of gas it still is many full gas,stations and in reality free unlimited gas Whit a price on the gas it is much more easy to control and keep gas a valuable item.

Not only that, but every gas station is always surrounded by a lot of zombies. So you already sorta pay to get gas by having to damage your gear killing zombies for it lol
Although, it's not super weird to pay...but considering we are criminals and there's nobody who runs the gas station, there's not a real reason anybody would pay in such a scenario. Abandoned gas station, zombies everywhere, and the exiled criminal says "I need to pull out my credit card. It's the right thing to do."

Unless you're on a really low loot server I don't see how having to pay for gas will make a difference.

Gas price can be adjusted, if you don't like the option you can turn it off completely by setting the modifier to 0. This will of course work only in SP and private servers as officials have the price of 15$ per liter and that is the default. so if you gonna fill in the gas canister you will end up paying 300$ as the capacity of the gasoline canister is 20 liters.

I've got close to 2700 hours in the game. I also purchase games on multiple platforms when they come out and dlc. Ridiculous things like prisoners paying for gas at abandoned gas stations and things like .8 to prematurely remove working vehicles are mounting reasons for me to abandon the game and find another one.

Liking features that are being implemented on a certain part of development is a personal opinion and not everyone agrees with it, if you do not like the state of SCUM at the moment I would suggest you take a break and return once the game is fully released, as a lot of features are yet to come and get adjusted in process of development, that's why the game i still in early access and not fully released.
