Loot
I find a lot of nothing in this game even in small towns there is about 5-10% loot and most of the things I search comes up with a lot of nothing even in the open world most of the things I search come up empty.

What is the point of playing something when all you find is nothing.

+1 there is nothing to loot, even fields of corn are usually empty, even in solo mode. They will say that you can change the .ini settings to get more stuff but that just shows how empty and broken the vanilla game is.

I have been playing in single player and I can't fathom why there wouldn't be a lick of loot for a single player character.

I can understand scarce loot for multiplayer servers but when there is not even a drop of loot in single player then there are problems.

Meh just gonna look for other survival games to play.

100% agree, and then they expect us to go sell stuff at the traders to get better gear, which is not even doable if your fame points are too low. What a ridiculous system :steamsalty:

Hello :),

If you think this is not what you like to play you can always head to your local Appdata folder :
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\SCUM\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Here you will find the ServerSettings.ini and you can change many game aspects to your liking including the chances of items:

[SCUM.ItemSpawning] SpawnerProbabilityMultiplier=1 ExamineSpawnerProbabilityMultiplier=1 ExamineSpawnerExpirationTimeMultiplier=1 SpawnerGroupsExpirationTimeInMinutesMultiplier=1

  1. SpawnerProbabilityMultiplier=1 Increase this value for more loot on open world item spawners.
  2. ExamineSpawnerProbabilityMultiplier=1 This is the same as above but takes care of the container like fridge, crates etc. Increase the value to have a higher chance for finding objects.
  3. ExamineSpawnerExpirationTimeMultiplier=1 This setting defines the speed of when new items will be aviable on said Spawner group. (Keep in mind open world spawners only will spawn objects if you are not close to them.)
  4. SpawnerGroupsExpirationTimeInMinutesMultiplier=1 Same as above. If you decrease the number spawners will be aviable sooner, by increasing the number spawners will need more time.

Feel free to experiment with the settings and test out if you like them or not. IF you think you have messed up something it is also not bad, just delete the ServerSettings.ini and start the game, it will then be recreated.

Its a survival game its not a holiday park, you have to work for it try harder thats surviving.

Try these settings:

[SCUM.ItemSpawning]
SpawnerProbabilityMultiplier=3
ExamineSpawnerProbabilityMultiplier=5
ExamineSpawnerExpirationTimeMultiplier=1
SpawnerGroupsExpirationTimeInMinutesMultiplier=1

I think you will be quite satisfied with that.

only 10% is actually not junk so this is closer to 1% in the end on vanilla settings.

isn`t it a shame that a game that has been out for more than four years now still requires player to know how to access a hidden folder on their pc in order to increase loot levels in single player mode, i would have added that option to the admin settings, if this game ever gets a console release how will they access the appsdata file.

That is a very good point. Although I am sure a console version would happen many years after 1.0 drops, if ever. An easy fix would be the implementation of difficulty levels for SP, easy, normal and hardcore with each their own settings already configured. Other games like Subsistence already do that.

Hey there, it's intended that the loot is rare and that you need to spend some time before you can find useful stuff, but that doesn't prevent you from gaining access to basic gear, you can always craft yourself an improvised backpack, bow, quiver and arrows which should in return help you fight off puppets and provide you with enough protection and inventory space until you find something better.

In SP as Deathwhisper stated, you can modify the loot and can increase the drop rate and respawn timers. As for questions as to why it wasn't implemented in the game interface, it's being worked on and in the future, such stuff should be modifiable through an in-game interface similar to modifications of the custom zones.

That's fair enough, but I struggle sooooo hard to find enough food to keep my character sustained.. All i can ever find, and rarely, are raw olives... not much help... not even any wildlife to hunt for food...

That post was almost a year ago, a lot of things have changed in that time. You should start your own thread to give your opinion. The Devs might lock this thread.

There's a lot of veggie growing north of you corn, potatoes, carrot, onion, parsnipes, brocili, cabbage, etc.

Dead trees can get you grasshoppers, crickets or larva for small protein....or worms along the river bank...
mushrooms in the woods-but do your homework on those!
