There is even a surplus of weapons and ammunition, although not in the form of firearms but rather in the form of home-made weapons. a simple bow is within everyone's reach, and sticks can already be used to make arrows.
Approach a bush and cut it up with a knife. If you don't have a knife at hand, look for 2 stones in the small piles of stones that are spread all over the grass. Once you have 2, you can craft a knife. This won't last forever, but will help craft spears, bows and other useful items that will ensure your survival in the first few hours of the game. If you are already a bit older in the field of survival and engineering, you can even build a shotgun yourself as well as a pistol. Ammunition can also be made from various scrap metal. However, the bow is recommended because the ammunition for it can be found and produced everywhere.
As soon as you have the knife, chop down a bush or 2 until you have 5 small wooden sticks and 1 long wooden stick. Open the inventory with the tab key, mark the individual small sticks with the left mouse button and then right-click on the knife. Here you can now select the improvised rope to craft. When the rope is finished, mark the knife, the long wooden stick and the newly made rope so that you can find a red frame around it again. Select the knife again with the left mouse button and now craft a simple bow. You have crafted your first ranged weapon. By felling more bushes you can then immediately produce ammunition. The weapon does not have a long range, but it fulfills its purpose nonetheless because regular puppets can do very little against this weapon. An ax or a spear for close combat complete this set. If you have killed a puppet you can loot it. The clothing not only serves as emergency clothing but can also be dismantled for additional equipment such as a backpack or a homemade quiver.
All in all, it's a survival game and not that easy to master at first, but the more you play with it, the faster you'll know where to find what. Take a look through the crafting menu (open the inventory with tab and press 2), here you will find all kinds of useful tools and aids that you can craft and that will help you to bridge the time until you find better equipment.
Remember don't stop keep going and if you die, do it again. Eventually you find kewl weapons and be able to withstand everytyhing, exept the mechs ofcourse lol. 😁
Did you check bunkers? The Airfield? The Airbase? The Naval base? WWII-bunkers? The Weapons(torpedo) factory?
There's even guns sometimes spawning at gas stations or convenience stores and also sometimes the hunting stands around the island
Also - where are you playing? Official Multiplayer (high or low pop?) or SP? Private server?
You are aware that you have lots of settings you can change to your own liking in Single player? Such as..the loot rate ..puppet spawns.. blue print timers ..cargo drops..... day/night cycle, food decay etc etc
On official MP it is what it is but as said in SP and rented private servers you can change it....
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SCUM\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
and "server"
Did you walk to the fields with leafy plants growing those are potatoes
Did you walk through a forest and see mushrooms growing on the ground
Did you see the small green little buildings that look like a greenhouse some have food growing in them
Did you walk up to a dead tree laying on the ground and search it for crickets, grasshoppers or larva
Did you see the trees growing in the small towns or cities and walk up to one and search it, some are fruit trees
Did you walk up to a blue hand water pump or a well looking thing in the game and go back and check it later for water
Did you see the lakes and rivers and try to drink from one and save a container to fill it with water for your journey
::::::::::
Food is everywhere to be found in the wild very little inside buildings. Mre's can be found in the military bunkers!

Craft an improvised bow with arrows and a quiver. Craft an improvised axe or spear until you find a weapon

It is a Survival game!
So, in a an hour and a half ( a blink of an eye in this game ), you decided that you should be able to sue the Devs? C'mon, really!
Did you do any research before you bought it? ( YT videos, these forums here, Twitter ).
Just ask nicely, you'll get more help than you need.
Listen to Deathwhisper and CrankyOldMan they're more than willing to help.
Where do you find the paper?
Where do you find gunpowder?
Where do you find the machinery?
Etc.
There have been so many changes to the game and new systems introduced yet the tutorial remains the same as years ago. It should be a priority.
Sell anything and buy them.
Puppets can be killed with a stone axe/wood bow, up to a small group if you have space to move around.
But you can looksee on youtube and learn a trillion things about the game as well. If New players just jump in not even look around for info, this what happen. I like to look around for info and learn a lot. But that doesen't mean i'm the all knowing god of survival, by no means.
We learn the hard way sometimes and that is the most important learning phase. However in the case of scum in ea phase, one kinda need to absorb the info from others like yourtube or discord and have better knowledge how to start and not die instantly.
And...neverrr givee up!!
