Radiation doesn't go away
Me and a friend are playing and we ended up near the power plant in c0. We've tried getting rid of the radiation but it keeps saying that we have radiation presence. How can we get rid of it?

What have you done/tried to get rid of it? It's a very pain in the ass process. Every piece of gear you brought in right down to weapon attachments can get radiation.

I'm not sure if it's a bug or what but I decontaminated both of my weapons and when I put them on I was still getting Radiation Presence. BUT it was 0.0 effective rate. So I said screw it and left them on to see what happens. It eventually went away all together.

I wish it would be more clear as to what gear/weapon has radiation on it, like a little Icon or something on the inventory menu. Because in my mind, if you wash your gear or decontaminate it all the Radiation Presence should NOT return even if it is 0.0 effective rate.

Don't worry, we took the hard way. Suicided and spawn in new versions of our loot. It seems to have worked

Strip naked go take a bath in the water some where. Drink and eat food so you ♥♥♥♥ and piss the radiation out of your body! Take potassium Iodate pills if you have them! Wash all of your clothes.

Like flop said before every gear you carry will be irradiated, not all but most. I trunout to Baquete solution at first and that works fine. If you won't want to that take Cranky guys advice, a morte effort but it does the job too. Go naked into the water with soap in your hands and wash away. You have to be more or less olmost into and under the water.
Before you go into the area, use potassium because that will reduce the amount of sickness so you have the time to try to get rid of the radiataion, this is immportant!

The gear you carry, choose it wise when you going try again into the zone.

The first time around this is what we did too. Second time around we took in gear that we could care less about if we lost it. Now our third time, we are going in with Rad suits.

Find a Geiger Counter, when on it will show irradiated items with some little radiation icon.

Also there is currently "a bug" where if you decontaminate a very heavy item that has ~10kg and it absorbed the maximum amount of sievert, it will stay on a very small amount like 0,001% and will have "Radiation on it" which will keep your character in radiation presence until it depletes over time. Usually takes a few minutes for this to deplete completely.

this bug is still active unfortunately. any other ways around this bug yet? or is time depleting still the only current solution?

Once you have identified an issue, it is best to file a report in the Bug Reports with all the necessary details about the problem.
Alternatively, you can also report it to SCUM Support[scum.help.jagex.com]. :)
