What is the Point of the ATMs
So our group was discussing the uselessness of the ATMs... what is the point of them? Every monetary transaction you do, you do in a trader zone... that has a bank.... Why would anyone carry around an ATM card let alone need to withdraw money in a major or minor city, for what? I have yet to see a puppet open up a café that servers food to paying customers or even a working vending machine.... so is that it? are we going to see uses for money outside of the trader zones in the future, or are ATMs there just because someone thought it was cool for some odd reason. Devs you got a good game, but stay focused... lol

I might think it's a vision for the future. One could have use for it somehow when the need is there. I am sure the focus you have in mind is not there for it yet, but I know the devs have something in mind, somewhere, somehow they know something is going to happen and they will get creative again! Remember it is still under construction, anything can happen not expected in the near future. 👍✌️

I find them pretty convenient to quickly deposit cash I gather while looting or make some transactions between players in the sense of - "ok, let's quickly swing by an ATM and do this." This kinda things.

Utility of ATM ; After a new start, I gathered more than 1000 Credits. I have been killed by 4 puppets who attacked me simultaneously. Result : after respawn, my bank account was - 250 and my pockets were empty... Fortunately, I managed to recover my money, but now, I travel only whith a minimal amount... The most part I place in my account via ATM ! It's easier than going to an outpost...

A server with pvp, you are happy if you can deposit your money somewhere else than in the outpost.

I think that in future, outposts won't be so safe. But just my guess.

Now that the Traders Accept both Cash and Bank Account the ATMs are now useful as of the Holiday Patch. Tested working this morning.

This means no need to Withdraw from the Bank to Buy from the Traders. This was a very nice change.

Yes, now it is almost meaningless, because the main money you get from selling something at the outpost.

Atms got lots of uses.

You can withdraw cash so your buddy can go buy something.
You can depsoit what you loot in town, somtimes i get up to 500, not to bad.
You can rob someone - withdraw money or die.

ATMs are awesome.

Useless, as you can trasfer money to another player.

For this reason I've used them just once and won't use them again.

The only reason to used ATM will be use of money outside traders and not sure if this will ever come into the game. Devs never talked about that.

I'm sure the system can be improved but as DarkLink said there are already valid reasons to use an ATM. ie, quickly checking someone's bank card that you just stole or quickly canceling a card that was stolen. Transferring money to a dead friend or ally that doesn't have enough funds for his respawn.

The point of an ATM is obviously to deposit/withdraw moneys. You know...quite handy if you don't want to walk around with lots of cash you found on your loot rounds...
For the card itself...well...there's the code. You shouldn't really run around with your newb card..... besides, not all servers are Battle Royal full on PvP - there are actual survival servers out there.

I like being able to save money but the credit card mechanic is kinda meh ngl, very easy to just buy a credit card, deposit the money and cancel the card so nobody uses it.

Remember when you had to carry a key to use a keylock in Rust and now you don't even have to bother with it? yeah credit cards in SCUM are the same.

And doing there is 100 bucks fee....so each time I buy a card, do all the transactions and then destroy it. So nobody will rob me.

Yes there is..you find money on loot rounds which you don't ant to walk around with.
