Laika Engine

So, I found a new Laika, and then another - both with no engine. SO, I went to the traders to buy an engine and they are not for sale? On the wiki it says only a vendor can repair it - does that mean we have to push the car over 5 grids by hand? If so, I have better things to do with my time because that is more boring then work... lol... please tell me I am missing something? Thanks!

No, and I will never play stalked based on that comment lol... A car makes the game playable and honestly fits the theme of the game - who would watch a game show with say 30 people on an island (server) this big, walk several hours to even find someone, then one or two shots later its back to walking for 2 hours again? It's ridiculous to think a map of this size would be fun or even practical to walk around on foot...

Seriously....updates are supposed to make games BETTER, not regress the game back to dev sandbox stage. Halloween update was amazing. Then we do an update to implement crapier driving mechanics, less map transportation options and a modular system that looks like it was designed by a child. No offense, the fun level of the game just dropped, plain and simple. It took Icarus creators an entire year to figure out their core customers hated the direction they were going...and what happened?.....the devs saw revenue and ratings drop, and finally gave the masses what they wanted. As others have posted. No issue's doing SOME work to obtain items......but lets use a little common sense here...........

It depends.
The devs have it set that only so many will have engines no matter what.
If all of those have been bought and all with the engines have been found and claimed then no matter how many you push to the mechanic they can't get an engine put in and that is where every player should be screaming at the devs.
That is so f'd in the head that they think a player wants to push a car to a mechanic on a pvp server only to find out an engine can never go in it.
Why waste server engine resources on having it spawned in the first place it just does not make sense.
Just have so many spawn and if players want them they have to go get them!
Solo's and small squads will have to ban together to go after the bigger squads that horde all the rides.

From what I've experienced.....if there's no engine, you can't sit in the drivers seat....but yes pushing downhill will get more momentum.....but you loose it if you have to up hill at all.....it's a very lame implementation. Vehicles rocked before...then the update and we went backwards. No logic

Sorry that you're not liking the current state of the game guys.

Some cars do spawn with engine, this is entirely up to what is set in the serversettings.ini, so on some private servers all spawned cars are functional and you won't have to push them, but this means that they can still spawn with no wheel so you'll have to add that. Or maybe spawn without battery/alternator, etc.

The idea behind this is that cars become luxury to have and that not everyone can have a car.

Either way, this is just the current design and we might increase the number of engines or make it that everything spawns with the engine in the future and then if your engine gets destroyed you'll have to push it to the mechanic to install a new one.

All 3 Laika's that i found had no engine. RNG be like that i guess.

So since the fix on the push forward, backward roll left, roll right implementation which was really needed. However since then I can not drive my wolfs wagon maybe 200 meters and the system crashes it has been happening since the 4 direction push was implemented. I just do not want to spend all the time to find and fix a laika just to have the system crash in 200 meters time and time again. I am pushing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wheelbarrow since driving can not be done. I have been disgruntled several times in the last 3 years or so but the first modular car I found I put some gas cans and tool kits in it walked half way across the map to get wheels and jack. When I got back the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ car was in the gas station bay but only the roof was above the concrete. I went found another car after covering 3/4's of the map came back same, third time it was gone. Now the car I have I have at my base but can not drive without crash. The latest implementations has been ♥♥♥♥-tarded. I believe you guys will fix as you always do.
Some talk about realistic parameters? Have you ever seen a zombie puppet in the real world? I actually have, a couple KGB guys that were interrogated with psychotropics. Sad stuff they do not attack by jumping 15 feet straight up but if agitated they could probably hurt someone.

I think this is the way.

IMO it’s more fun to come across a car and excitedly loot nearby towns to try and find an alternator/battery/missing wheel/driver’s seat/gas than “oh boy another missing engine. Not pushing this 4 grids. Next.”

It is server settings, so I don't understand what is your problem.

5 out of 5 Laikas no engine. Also since the hotfix i only find Laikas, so far no WW. (single player)
