How to repair a vehicle at the mechanic?

Have found a Laika without rear wheel. It still drives fine, but I wanted to have all 4 wheels.
Now there is no option to service a vehicle at the mechanic's ramp? What is this affected by? I have a bit over 500 FP but my int skill is still below basic - I just started a new char. I remember some time ago it was possible to service a vehicle at the mechanic and even buy and install spare parts case you have money. Now there is no even an option to service the vehicle?
Please help.

when car is in service mode at garage & you have wheel in hand look at the green phantom wheel on car and hold down f key ...should say in list menu install front/rear wheel

Drive the car over the service lift and then press F - Service car. Make sure you have a vehicle repair kit.

To service the car at the mechanic? This cannot be true. To service myself on a jack, yes I think so. But I remember was able to service a WW at the mechanic w/o any engineering skill? Now there is not even an option to service at the mechanic, has it been changed or maybe it only affects Laika? I am able to lift the car up with a jack, but cannot do anything more because my eng skill is still below even basic.

This was not changed, you require medium engineering for both the car jack and mechanic.

I think there might be a problem with the Laika: in my solo game, I found a WW, and I could Service Car on the lift even with Basic Engineering. I could also use the Jack, but all service option where greyed out.

On my server play(Official Canada #2), we found a Laika, I have Medium Engineering, and a Car repair kit, the car is missing a tire and I can't see the Service Car menu option.

Also, I can't use a Car Jack on the side missing a tire, not can I close the door(inaccessible interaction point, something like that)

Move the car a little bit! then you might be able to service!

Whatever you want to service, be it on the lift or jack, you have to hold the item you want to change/attach in your hands.

I tried moving the car, I tried front-facing, back-facing, didn't work(at the Mechanic)
I know I must have the jack in hand(for manual service), I did, still didn't work on the side where the tire is missing and the car is askew

Can you be a bit more precise of the happening ? You want to bring a car into service mode at the mechanic trader but it does not work ?

I've experienced the same issue with the Laika. If it is missing a wheel when it is found then for whatever reason the service option for both the carjack and the mechanic doesn't work. At the mechanic I can have it directly over the lift but there is no option to service the car when F is held. When I use the carjack I cannot put the wheel on even when I'm holding it in my hands (and with medium engineering and plenty of car kits).

Exactly as Pants said, a Laika missing a wheel will not enter Service Mode at the Mechanic, I tried both side, none worked.

Using the car jack to Service myself, it worked, but only on the side with 2 tires; the side missing a wheel won't show the option, and I can't even close the door, as it says "Inaccessible interaction point" or something like that.
I also can't enter the vehicle by the side missing a wheel.

Multiplayer. I haven't attempted to push a Laika without a wheel to the mechanic to see if it will work in singleplayer but I can say using the carjack and attempting to put a wheel on a Laika that was missing a wheel does not work in singleplayer either.

In Singleplayer I just tried the Wolfswagon, which worked with only 2 wheels(front-right and back-left)
