Bring back enforced locks at the traders + make them cheaper
Lockpicking is too easy. How are you supposed to secure your base if it takes so much effort to make locks and you have to have advanced engineering to do so for enforced. The other ones are useless in my opinion.

Either make it so that you can craft locks with less padlocks or make it super common to find them. One padlock should be enough to make a rusty lock. Thank you.

Padlocks are already quite common to find, if you visit any office building or office room inside the bunker you can find multiple locks, players often manage to get enough locks for 2 golden locks in a single bunker run.

I agree wth xKiCkx,

I play the game in Sp right now with a loot percentage of 0,3. I struggle finding many things like batteries or simple yarn but locks I find on every corner. Spawnrate of locks is more then ok. If you say you have problems finding them, then you do not loot the right places. And yes, you need advanced engeneering to craft them. Its for a reason. You need to prioritize what skills you need most over others. You can not have it all on max at the beginning. Its common sense.

The only thing I hope the devs will fix is that you can not level inteligence right now. It makes sense somehow logically that it is a fixed stat. But in a game sense its not very player friendly. If you are new to the game nothing tells you that you can´t level up intelligence. So if you choose low inteligence first you are screwed since you will never be able to craft a decent padlock or other items like the metal chests for your building. Not beeing able to level inteligence also forces too many players into high inteligence builds over other more diverse builds that allow the player to try out different playstyles.

Maybe a future librarian npc could sell you some books to read to raise your inteligence level a little bit. Would be a good thing to invest money on something that directly benefits you as a player. Now with the updated Famepoint system it would make sense. The more Famepoints you have the more xp you gain from buying a book at the trader. It could be an late game option when you have more money and Fame then you know what to do with it. Every bought book gives you a little more xp based on your Famepoints until you finally reach max Inteligence.

People that way can actively work towards beeing able to build advanced stuff later on without the need to spent 5.0 points in Inteligence right at the beginning.

Bring back anything to traders, can't see the reason to make them a half-way bot shop.

But its easier to find a hundred screwdrivers and lockpicks than to find 45 locks, let alone all the gear to make advanced lock protectors.

Now with sticky C4 it's even easier for sweaty offline raiders.
Just park a car next to a base wall and enter on the second level.

Hardly any balance there for the defenders.
As it stands and always has since launch.
Sweaty offline raiders 95% chance for an easy raid.
Defenders 5% if you happen to be online, but very rare.

When are we going to get some base building/raiding balance in this game?.

That is not correct. Finding screwdrivers and proper lockpicks will take way more time than finding 45 padlocks.

Finding the padlocks aren´t the problem here, its your lazy attitude towards looting. Go to any office, bunker, cities doesn´t matter and you can find padlocks easily. Go to the supermarket near the gasstation in C3 city, second floor I found 6 padlocks in the offices there today. I found padlocks in normal houses, in the small construction cabins. Go to any major poi like the airport or the factory. You can even find them in police stations and garages.

If you know you will need goldlocks in your sessions choose inteligence over other perks right from the start. If you wanna protect your home as best as you can don´t be lazy, take your backpack and move around. Be active and do not expect to get everything without doing nothing. Be smart, build away from populated areas.

Pvp in any game demands ongoing commitment and activity. Its nothing for people that are light hearted, that are clinging on to their bases and take every raid very personal.

I agree that there should be some kind of offline protection and there is definitely always space for improvements. But crying around that everything is unfair in pvp just because other people are showing more commitment and are way more active is a hugh no go. Sorry mate to say this, but you can not blame the developers for your own mistakes and expect them to support your lazy attitude towards playing pvp.

You're not factoring in the time to build a base. Do any of the dev's or testers actually play the game at all other than start it up and look at items ?.

Seriously go spend 20-50 hours minimum to build a base then farm all the locks and items to craft advanced lock protectors for up to 8-10 doors another 20 hours, then log off and come back 4-8 hours later and everything will be gone.
Hardly and balance there other than to favour the sweats with no life that play 24/7 and offline raid everything.

Better first farm the stuff you need for building, then build it.

It seems if you are solo noob engineer, you don't need a base. The only way to get golden locks are airdrops.
CheeseKing  [developer] Dec 25, 2022 @ 5:18am
Sorry you guys don't like this change, although there might be some private servers that still have locks at the trader enabled.

Yeah it kinda sucks if you don't have a big skill engineer in your squad to create stuff for the base :(
