Fame Points With Traders
I'm all about the new system of needing 'X' amount of FP to buy certain items. However, I don't think it should actually COST the FP ON TOP OF the money to buy the items. If we have to use FP to buy things, then what's the point of the money?

it is a little annoying yes especially with how slowly fame is gained in 0.8 at least it is finally going up now.

If it were the way you lay out here there are several ways it could be gamed to defeat the point of using fame at all.

First i could make an alt, park it in the safe zone after farming some fame. Then, when i need something, i just use the alt to buy it without any limits. The alt will never be killed and therefore its fame status will remain permanent as will it's purchase power.

Second, basically all anyone needs to do is build up a huge pile of cash over some period of time then all in one day fame up enough fame to spend it on whatever they want then go on a shopping spree.

The idea here is to prevent people from just farming for junk then turning into a full custom kit all in one sitting as it was before. Its meant to balance the traders against the looting for crap. It creates a situation where you could loot something good like a rifle then have just enough means to buy a magazine and bullets but no so much that you can just go in a trader and go from rags to riches on some airplane repair kits and antibiotics.

OR maybe, there is other way, like fame points cost only for GUNS, ammo and armor

OR Guns trader not selling gun, instead they offer service repairing your gun

OR an easier way to obtain fame, yesterday I play, I killed tons of puppets and some give 1 fame, bust most of them, like 80% give nothing

If you browse youtube, people already using exploit to get fame, you know something involving split things and something something that pierce something, 1 stack if that snag 150 fame in an instant

A cabbage cost 50 fame points is just ridiculous

People, if you like me who dislike fame cost for traders, you can check youtube casual wardog , you know normally I don't support "workaround" but with ridiculous & broken system a "workaround" is okay

Agreed. Your point is hard to argue against but they're all trying like hell.

I get where everyone is coming from. Personally, I'm totally fine with FP being needed to gain access to better tiered items and even better deals on items (if that becomes a thing). I just don't think it should cost both FP and money to buy items. To be honest, if you grind your butt off and earn the FP and have the money, you should be able to completely outfit yourself with the best tiered stuff. I've got my eye on the Carbon Hunter and am doing what I need to earn it. Unless I get lucky I find one somewhere lol

This does not solve the issue that having a fame cost per item solves though. It simply delays the issue until later in the game.
Guy pulls up to McDonald's, can I get a big mac? Sorry sir, I've never seen you on TV. Pull through... But I have money WTF. So social credit system? This game is trash.

SO REMOVE THE GOOD MILITARY ITEMS FROM IT

Or make only certain items cost fame

or MAKE AN ACTUAL ECONOMY where the traders only have so many of each item, and the price is based on Conidition of item sold, and the stock available. This would make people that want to be 'traders' traveling from SZ to SZ, and allow bandits to tag them inbetween.

This is the worst way to balance an economy IMO. And dont get me started on death. There were other ways to penalize death.

I really don't see how any of the other methods you listed are any better or worse than what we have. In the end its all about balancing the experience. This is actually a quite novel approach in terms of game design. It will need value tweeking no doubt but there's nothing wrong with its foundation or what it aims to do.

I'd say the point with it is to reduce running to the traders to buy everything you need and "all the time".

I really like what they've done! It's not supposed to be wallmart
