the Reactor Type used in the game is simply the same as the Chernobyl. Reference [en.wikipedia.org]. The name of the type is RBMK-1000. So there exist way more reactors of the same type.
One can of course speculate a lot about what could have happened here, in terms of popularity the first best speculation would then of course be for the show aspect. A highly dangerous area and the live entry of convicted individuals who can expose themselves to this danger.
One can of course also speculate that only one reason was needed here to be able to acquire enough uranium legitimately in larger quantities and much more.
However, no details are known about the circumstances and the situation, so unfortunately it will only remain with the rumor mill of the prisoners for the time being.
Sorry if I thought the wrong Type here. What type was it in the game? LWR (light water reactor) in BWR (boiling water reactor) or PWR (pressurized water reactor) design, HWR (heavy water reactor), graphite reactor, breeder reactor?
At least in the popular case, a steam overpressure explosion was probably the reason for the destroyed structur. The fuel elements themselves cannot explode.
Ok comrade Anatoly Dyatlov you´re right
