If your rifle disappears in your hand, just equip a second rifle on your back and switch them. Then the rifle in your hand will appear again on your back and the weapon on your back will be in your hands.
If you miss a weapon (or any item) in your inventory just take any item from your inventory and drop it in the place where the weapon (or the missing item) has been.
Well, I would say the same - but the last two days I've had it happen twice, because I have my gun in my hand - as I usually just carry one, and I've looted two guns off of kills I've made. So now I have three guns and a full inventory that I want to take out of the POI. I also have a pistol hotkeyed to take care of puppets, and if I use that hotkey to bring the pistol into my hand - the gun in my main hand does not fall to the ground, but instead evaporates into thin air.
However, luckily enough it can be found again, because it will actually reappear where you last logged in, floating in the air.
This is a big problem for survival games!
Players are looking for weapons, and at one point they lose it!
And here - what thoughts? Close the game!
A lot of complaints from players about the loss of weapons comes to my server!
Unfortunately, the weapon disappears not only on my server, on all servers!
Weapon loss cases are known:
If the player has objects on his left and right shoulder (axe or weapon, stick, bow ...), and he does the following:
- went to urinate
- went to poop
- climbed onto the tower
- pickup the bandage from the floor to rewind the wounds
took any item from the floor (from the container)
- got into transport
Most likely, the weapon will disappear!
Please fix it!
That is most likely just your character dropping the item on the ground. If both your shoulder slots are full and an item is in your hands, the moment you go to urinate. climb ladders, etc. - your character will try to put the item from your hands into your inventory to free his / hers hands for the required interaction. If your inventory is full it will be dropped onto the ground. That's not a bug, it's designed that way. Although, I can understand the irritation of losing your items because you forgot about the whole ordeal while doing some basic interactions and thus extra weapon holsters should solve this issue once they're implemented.
Bunny, please read this bug report:

Will do, thanks ! I told our testers to try to reproduce the bug with all the info in these threads combines. Hopefully something will come out of it.
Yep, happened to me a couple days ago. My worst and most damaging events in the game are usually hard error crashes while transferring stuff around between vehicle inventory and personal inventory. And of course it always happens when i'm messing with one of my best, key weapons. Reboot, log back in, best key weapon no longer exists. !@#$%'in @#$%! This has happened to me at least a half dozen times since i started playing early last year. Never fixed.
No it's not. Read the whole thread. Weapons can seem like they disappear, and only reappear when you fiddle with your inventory. I've had this happen with just a single weapon in my backpack and nothing in my hands or elsewhere. It's rare but given the number of players it's going to happen to people at some point.
