Grill and Fire (no heat?)

Hi there,

I'm at a loss.
I have now combined a fire ring and the improvised grill in 5 different ways. The latest setup is with the fire ring right under the grill.

BUT: Even with 0/10 burned down, everything i place on top of the grill is just getting warm.
Not hot, not burned, warm... and it stays raw for dacades.

And yes, i tried different spots on the grill. the only place where it gets hot is on the floor, right next to the firering

As i learned, there should be the hottest sport right in the middle of the FR. no chance.

fuel the fire with sticks or small logs. ideally do that first them put on the meat near the edge or it will burn. or.. wait a bit after putting on a small log

The improvised grill doesn't actually work and has never worked, it's too high up for the fire to produce any heat. For stuff to get hot enough, you have to drop them on the ground practically touching the ring of stones for the fire.

Well... i dont think so with like 40 videos with working grills ive seen at least "proof of concept" ^^

It used to work. I don't bother anymore. I just max my endurance and eat raw meat sparingly, or stick to bugs for protein.

Then some patch must have broken it more recently? After a bear tried to eat me i cut him up and tried cooking his meat. The meat on a stick works but at the improvised grill you can sit hours and nothing happens. Not too tragic.

try using a bench with 2 small fires placed under neath!

Put 2 simple camp fires under it, fuel them to 0/10 and enjoy a graet meal!! Works 100%, just did it.

You can place the food that you are trying to prepare next to the fire, it doesn't need to be on top of the grill, I understand it's nice to have it on the grill, but until the cooking rework happens, unfortunately, some of the current features in the game regarding cooking won't work without the issues.
