Hey there OP, depends on where they were located. You can also check in singleplayer with command #VisualizeBulletTrajectories true to check how the bullets are penetrating certain doors and walls.

Sidenote - AP rounds were broken (same damage as normal rounds) a couple months ago, is that fixed?

They are not meant to deal extra damage, they are meant to destroy armor that other players are wearing much faster.

Might be wrong but that didn't seem to be the case when my squad tested it in September.

Edit - tests with new AWP, AWM, Carbon Hunter and M1. In all tests at 200m the same damage (with a few % very minor differences) was done to bulletproof and big boy tactical armour when loading AP or standard rounds. The player took exactly the same damage as well.

(all else in test was constant)

They don't do more damage to the person. They just damage the armor more.
I know that sounds stupid...and it is but its not a bug.

It is a small % difference per shot but if you compounded that in a simi auto or full auto weapon it would be a massive difference in damage to armor per second.

None of that stacks up with single shot high calibre rounds from a bolt action though for example.

Edit - these should go through armour like it isn't even there.

Yeah, I'm not disputing that, but presently that isn't the mechanic. Within the scope of the current mechanic the AP rounds greatly benefit full auto weapons over single fire. I only mentioned it for the sake of nuance.

Not all ammo should do that, depending on the caliber of ammunition you have and the type of vest that one is wearing, it will do more or less damage to the vest.

I was referring to high calibre AP sniper rounds. They pretty much ignore armour.
