chopping food

Amyone having trouble chopping food
i have verified my game files but still no good
in the drop down chop does not light up in drop to chop the food.
yes i do have knife in hand as well still no good
anyone help ?

Can you please share a screenshot or video of the happening ? This would help a lot. Also what do you want to chop ?

you chop up animals or you can slice a water melon you just take a bite with other food that has multiple hits!
So you chop up a animal, then you chop up the carcass, then you chop up maybe a leg which will give you steaks 4/4 or 10/10 then you eat a 4/4 hopefully just 1 use and it will say 3/4

knife army or machete, but when i scroll over wolf leg to chop.
the word chop does not highlight when click on it nothing happens

yes tried that and change knifes etc and used other food to chop same thing

Quick question, did you try selecting a knife or placing it in the hand and then trying to chop the leg?

Okay, one more thing that is coming to my mind is to place the meat on the floor and try to cut it then. Related question, what server are you playing on? Is it multiplayer or singleplayer?

I have but meat on ground but no luck
Multiplayer and on Europe server 4 I think.
I will check when home from work

Im not 100% certain, but that almost looks like a zombie arm (its been a little while since I played.) Zombies can only be butchered once (cut into pieces), and currently their arms/legs have no utility (but guts can be used with animal meats to make sausages.)

If you want to interact with some things, first you need to left click your knife / Fooster's blade and have it highlighted with an outline before right clicking on the object to interact with in order to get the popup menu for butchering.

This click-to-highlight context menu interaction can be some degree of unintuitive and inconsistent. If you have an item in your holster and you want to cut rags, it will take the item from your holster without need of highlighting it. But if you have highlighted scissors in your inventory and right click a rag, it will still use the item from your holster. So.. you have to manually put the scissors in your hands in some cases. (If you carry something like an axe / knife in holster anyway.)

hi thanks for trying to help but that one is wolfs leg and two been playing game for years so kinda know how to interact with things. but again appreciate that help
