shooting down planes

Can one shoot down a flying plane?
If so, what weapon?

Can AWP be used to damage/disable/kill pilot?

Pretty sure you can. The plane is very fragile and a hit or two to the engine should cause it to seize up.

As already said, yes! You can shoot down planes. Whether you hit the pilot accurately is a question of ability. So you can definitely try this and if a hit is landed well it is quite possible to eliminate the pilot as well. Whether the plane survives the landing is very questionable, so it is hardly worth aiming specifically at the pilot unless he is possibly sitting on the runway.

Which weapon you use plays less of a role, although you could have difficulties with a bow and arrow if you don't use explosive ammunition.

I want to see one shooting down a plane with a normal arrow

Back in ArmA2 we had this RP community and one player decided to attack our checkpoint with an old WW1 plane. All i can say is it didn't go well....one shot between the machine guns with an M16A4 is all it took

Hey there OP, you can pretty much shoot it down with any weapon you have, some will take more hits to the plane some less, most efficient weapon to take down a plane is a grenade launcher, only 1 shot from it is enough to destroy fully fixed up the plane, second best is M82, not exactly sure how much it takes with it to take it down but it shouldn't be a lot.

I can confirm that if you lay down on the top wing while your buddy tries to take off, it will cause the plane to blow up. Planes are very fragile, lol.

A bit too fragile from our experience. Fortunately repair kits are common.
