Your character setup and some prep will all but eliminate the infections, unless you're careless and get the (bleep) beat out of you. Your CON score and clean bandages are really all you need. Depending on your CON the antibiotics can really help, and you can buy those at the traders.

But then again I do have Medium medical skills and carry medical stuff on me.

Sorry you had such a bad experience Mongoose. I am tempted to stop washing my clothes and start using dirty rags for bandages just to see this elusive infection one time.

Hello OP, :)

Infections can be overwhelming in the first palce until you learn how to solve these. It is not that bad and it takes a lot of time before a infection is realy determined serious. Most important is :

If you have severeal wounds, bandage yourself proper. Rags wont do it very well. Desinfect the Rags with Absynth Father to get clean bandages. These supressing Infections and are the best way to cure severeal wounds.

If you have Heavyer wounds (C2+ ) you should consider to remove temporary the Clothes and LEt the Wounds heal. If there is little time, Medical Equiptment will help you here the best. Bandage yourself with good bandages so the wound is not only aided well but also secure from outside effects like dirty clothings. The Desinfection of the Wound can laso help. You can do that with Isopropyl Alcohol and Absinth Father. Pur the Alcohol over the wound to desinfect it.

Please Delete the "Saved" Folder located in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\SCUM . If you play SP mode you also should create a backup of the Files called SCUM.db located in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\SCUM\Saved\SavedFiles (Please do not use old Files from bevor version 0.7 )Delete after backup the Saved folder and start the game. If this step does not help please open a report in Technical Sub Forum.

What exactly did you expect buying a game branded as a "survival game with pvp elements"? Did you expect to boringly run around the map all healthy and full HP? lol
I'm exactly the opposite: just waiting for the zeds to give you all kinds of diseases if you get scratched, or contaminated food...contagious players, blood transfusions, disinfectants, virus, bacteria, morphine, getting a cold etc etc

I never bother cleaning clothes and infections have not been a problem.
Just make sure you have some disinfected bandages on you. Loot bunker medical rooms for antibiotics.
