Sniping, only spawn puppets at 150 meters?
So, I've noticed that puppets only spawn within 150 Meters of the player? how can we then use the long range rifles if we only can see the targets at 150 meters? I can't set my visability range to more than 100, however I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Can someone pleaseexplain how it works.

Puppet rendering was limited to 150-200 m (depending on the character ) because of server performance. Once we optimize the game performance further, this will probably change to a larger distance.

Definately 150m+ on single player too,sad thing is if you miss, the other puppets go to where the bullet hits and not the sound of my gun, perhaps a bullet that far away from muzzle is louder hitting trees, ground then the the rifle..pretty cool if that's the case lol.

That's exactly the case here. The sound of the bullet hitting the ground is louder then the sound of the gun being fired and puppets aggro the sound that is louder. It depends on the distance from which the shot has been fired, the bullet itself and the surface which it hits ( it will make more sound if hitting metal and less sound if hitting earth for an example ).

That will only change the aiming distance of the rifle not the view distance.

Well maybe I wasn't clear enough, the puppets are only viewable at 150 Meters or so.

It memory serves we see puppets much farther away than that. Is there official info somewhere on this ?

Is you puter capable of rendering............. ofc it is, you see distant trees and mountains.

will puppets render sooner or later than towns ? cuz we see towns from far greater that 1000 meters.

are puppets rendered differently than towns ?
I can see towns and structures as far as i can see, meaning there is no limit in my world view.
However I clearly got limitation on the puppets, ast they spawn in and out depending how far away I am from them, and in my case it's 150 meters.

We need more info on this. Any chance this could somehow be on your end ? Not your fault but an errent game setting or something ?
Could be, but where to look? all is A) Epic or B) High...

My only setting that is not high or epic are post rendering that one is medum.

I'm sure that's coming later. In a lot of cases the terrain limits view distance but, yes 150 m seems to be it for targeting right now, even though we can see the markers and targets farther away on the gun range. Spawn seems limited to 150 meters.

Most of the time, no big deal since terrain or foliage makes shooting farther difficult or impossible but, there are a few places where a 400 meter shot would be possible.

Enemys at 1000m are only a few pixel tall

The detection range of the opponent is influenced by several factors. Type of clothing, camouflage, visibility through weather, your own perception (skill), your malus on your skills (note BCU!), your own health, current fitness, etc.

So, without exact information about your values nobody can say anything more, except maybe that you can see your opponent only at 150 meters because of your char and does not necessarily have anything to do with your game settings.

I was sure than the the 150m limit was a technical limit for everybody to balance the charge of the server
Malarky, are you 100% sure that you see so far puppet ?
(and yes player don't have any render limit)

I don't know I was sure that was the case too.
However I've made a small clip what it is.
