The ORIGINAL info you saw/see written by me here, is outdated. Ive got to test this out further when i get back to playing. So in short it turns out if your gameplay is working normally, to find those ornaments is not a huge task like it would of been last year due to their rarity.

I guess an apology is in place for the original guide if it messed up the hunt for your balls.

It's a toss up on whether they'll be "in" something or out in the open. When I found them near the convenience stores they were mostly in a trash pile/dumpster nearby.

UPDATE EDIT:

So i wandered to the junkyard and the result was surprising, there were so many ornament balls around that i got the task done in 2 runs through the piles of cars. I had only 3 balls collected before going to the junkyard and amongst the thrash i found all that the following image shows. Best one was 2 ornaments and a single paper roll from the same pile. Another good thing on looting at the junk dunk is that the first looted containers start refreshing as you get to the end, depending on your speed ofcourse. This means you can keep looting the yard without pauses.

There has been many struggling to find these. It is already a slow process to gather these even if you go through all the grocery stores in the world. But, there is atleast few locations that shine above the rest. One of them is the POI called Radio Station on top of the snowy mountains. There is atleast 3 spots that reliably give a christmas item down there (usually 1 item per trip) that i can confirm. Possibly 2 more spots but sadly cant be certain of where those are.
Not true for most, may require a new SP to be created if you do it in SP.

So today i went in again to fetch the usual single christmas item but in my surprise i found 2 of them. On my way to the Radio Station i looted 6 Shops that could of had christmas items in them, but no luck there.

Upper screenshots have the usual spots shown where these items can be found at the Radio Station and their locations on the map. The ones with the red circle, the spot has not spawned an item.

Also i checked out Observatory as that place has multiple spots for these items too. On the bottom left image is one confirmed spot for the items, rest of the spots i cant remember, sorry. Sadly nothing was spawned there. Though i did find wrapping paper inside a red loot container you see in the bottom right image, completely new thing to me, usually i find these items outside of loot containers.

Play on a very low loot server, isnt possible to find 15 ornaments in 2 days. I had craft the gift paket for the "old tree" but after the christmas patch is useless....

15 ornaments is impossible in 2 days, probably so even on high loot server. I am myself playing SP on default settings. I used to play official MP centered near these locations so i know them very well.

The ornaments spawn rate was increased for the Christmas season so you should find more of them as you go. :)

What about the possible locations they can spawn into?

I just completed my hunt. In total, after having to start over due to the G-Portal database issue, it took me roughly 10-12 hours of play time to find them all. (My wife wants to know where all of our coffee went. It didn't seem to answer her question when I told her I had to find my balls.) This was with a vehicle and hunting for them specifically. I've found them, in the order I remember them from most finds to least:

The small white convenience stores
The large stores
The brick convenience stores
Workshops
Garages

I wasn't even trying common houses

I did a wipe myself becuse of the issue, still managed thanks to the junkyard to build the three just in time :D..though, i ran out of coffee and my energy drink backup is starting to get less and less xD

It sounds like my guide is old info now :) There is more places and possibilities now.. Maybe some adjustment is in place.

EDIT: Maybe i would need to start a completely new SP session to get it working like Deathwhispers?

I spent more than 3 hours in Samobor, checked all cars, dustbins, workshops, supermarkets, garages, and so one... nothing :( We speak about low loot server.

It must be tough on low loot, even if the spawn rate has been imcreased.

I guess i try one more time later to go loot the junk yard, will report my findings back. Ive been pretty much all over the place since the christmas patch and those balls or any other christmasy items have been just as rare for me as they were last christmas or any other time. Aka no joy apart from the one place that this thread started on :-)

On my way back home to build my christmas tree i checked 6 shops and all the car wrecks i found, but no luck, not a single christmas item from those. So if your christmas tree isnt ready yet, head to the Junk yard!
