been seeing a lot about this and i agree, i been trying to build my base and havent been jogging far but think i spent more time eating than building. almost ate an entire boar in a couple real life hours.. think it needs to be tweaks, i love the game but this feels like its over the top. ive never eaten a whole boar irl in 2 days

ya and people on server im on was saying get good lol has nothing to do about being good, i can find food fine but gettting it non stop and always hungry is worse than eating in real life. dont like complaining about games but cant really play the game this way

Buy guts from the Trader, or... get them from a dead player/friend, IF you don't mind eating human flesh. Then make Sausages, cook up a bunch and chow down...

Solved all my squads food issues... Ohh and drink lots of water as sausages seem to dehydrate you a bit more, but... hunger issues will be a thing of the past..

so one think is when i cook meat 99.5% of the time i brun it lol but ill try that.

I also agree that the food depletion feel a bit dialed up and needs a little love. In the meantime:

Can't survive on meat alone as it's only protein. Need to find a decent / rich source of carbs. Potatoes for example. Cheap at the trader and can be found on various farm plots. Scarcity will depend on server settings. Cereal was also a reasonable solution but don't over do it long term.

Look into buying spices & vegetable oil to make kebobs from meat and fat. Just don't eat the fat by itself if you can help it.

Thanks for the feedback guys, we will follow further feedback and perhaps modify it a bit. As Admiral Kobi said, you can go for a carb rich diet, but also remember that you dont just waste energy by jogging, if youre going around with lots of gear or picking up logs, you will have to eat.

Well, we've noticed a change on our server too. We've spent more time eating than repairing shoes and that says a lot. Before the wipe and before 0.7 I had slowed down the Body Simulation Speed just a little bit (3.20) to not make us eat and drink all the time. I had the same setting after the wipe but after a few days I've had to lower it a LOT to some what get the same speed as before. And it's not character settings since I made mine pretty much the same as before the wipe. Another fellow server owner had her players complaining too - all they're doing is eat and drink. I don't know if it's what ever you've done but the meat skewers seem to do barely nothing and you kind of digest it in no time.

We all know about "energy waste" by different actions but this is not it...it's something you've done with the update.

I have just come back to try the game out again and been loving it so far but the food and water is way over tuned, i ate a full bore to walk half a mile and be starving again, its a little to much.

Weird, I have not noticed eating issue while building my base the other day. Do you rest while eating and after eating? If you don't you will burn it off quicker.

yes trust me. waited over 15 min yesterday after eating boar meat and it didnt make a difference. your server might have adjusted it from default.

Yes the eating has gotten a bit out of control lol.. I can eat cereal, milk, potatoes, tuna, etc and a few minutes later am starving which takes all the fun out of the game.. Even in rl survivalist survive on minimal things in the wild..if you have to eat every 5 mins to play its more of a nutritional game hahaha -- love love the game but please Devs tweak it back like before..

There is definatley an issue with the eating since the update,constantly starving so much so that you cant keep up with the amount of food required to just keep yourself alive (barely).Im not bashing the devs here as i love everything that they have done with the game thus far but this is making it unplayable for me and much less enjoyable and aggravating to say the least.I had no issues with the food system previous to the 7.0 update and dont see why it needed changing in the first place.Hopefully theres a hotfix in the very very near future to solve the issue.

This is a strange thread, im playing sp on default settings and water levels are easy to keep tuned. Energy levels felt hard to keep at ok levels until i found cereal, and then figured its about getting enough carbs to keep the energy levels good.
And no im not trying to keep it 100% at all times, thinking that 99% is bad, just anything before the negative effects hit is fine, and maybe a small buffer on top.

I do see that it has been changed, but not so much that it has become impossible. Or maybe sp config is now different from officials/server defaults?
