Or, if the car is on a hill, you can also bump start it. Or have a teammate push the vehicle while you press start.
For now that is (muhahaha)
All fine and beautiful, I'm always game for new survival mechanics. However, the offline bleeding battery thing in offline single player mode is really quite irritating and irrational.

There's a whole section dedicated to vehicle settings that you can adjust to your liking :
[SCUM.Vehicles]
FuelDrainFromEngineMultiplier=1
BatteryDrainFromEngineMultiplier=1
BatteryDrainFromDevicesMultiplier=1
BatteryDrainFromInactivityMultiplier=1
BatteryChargeWithAlternatorMultiplier=1
BatteryChargeWithDynamoMultiplier=1
VehicleSpawnGroup.PickupTruck.Max=16
VehicleSpawnGroup.Quad.Max=12
VehicleSpawnGroup.SUV.Max=16
VehicleSpawnGroup.Tractor.Max=12
VehicleSpawnGroup.Wheelbarrow.Max=20
VehicleSpawnGroup.MotorBoat.Max=16
VehicleSpawnGroup.SUP.Max=10
VehicleSpawnGroup.Motorcycle.Max=10
VehicleSpawnGroup.Bicycle.Max=10
MaxNumberOfDaysVehicleInactivity=10.0
Set it to this:
BatteryDrainFromInactivityMultiplier=0.1
Then it'll take at least a month of real time for an inactive battery to drain.
Wonderful :) Thank you both.
If you can comment, I see a "Dynamo" setting... does this mean there are generators on the map or is it like the alternator on a car? And will we be able to charge batteries and then remove them so they can be used on other cars? Pulling cell batteries out of cell phones would be nice... I find TONS of phones, but can;t really do anything meaningful with them in Single Player.
The " BatteryChargeWithDynamoMultiplier=1 " affects how fast the battery of the vehicle charges while it is moving. If your vehicle is parked - it will slowly drain it's battery, but if you drive it around the battery will slowly charge.
Currently cell phones are used as a crafting ingredient for some items, but you will be able to use them in other ways in the near future.
Vehicle batteries can be charged with :

Wait, then what is the Alternator setting for if the Dynamo setting is for recharging the car battery in motion? Alternator is the setting for idle charging?
