Good ways or places to secure boats?

My hiding spot was compromised....
So now I need to find a way to secure my boat.
Any suggestions would be good.

I think the most sensible places would always be away from all paths and routes.

Especially between POI's the chance that a vehicle will be found is very high. But the remote areas are also of interest to the curious who just want to go there.

A good camouflage is therefore mainly dependent on how interesting an area is.
But also how accessible such an area is. Rough terrain has a certain deterrent effect.

The safest way atm is to build a small rectangular "boathouse" with the gate directly on the water (as close to the shore as possible and place a flag in it)

Then drive full speed And get as much of the boat into the gate as you can. You'll have to "push" it the rest of the way. Then close (and lock) the gate.

Make sure the gate is opened towards the water before you drive/push it through the gate.

It's not 100% safe but it's much safer than just leaving the boat pushed up on the shore wher it can be stolen or destroyed.

You can double the safety by doing this method on one of the many little islands.

Edit: you will of course have to push it back out into the water and it takes time and patience

Figured I was gonna have to do that.
My hiding spot was working great, but it was only a matter of time.

So it's hide them well and hope no one destroys steals them, or gate them off making them more visable and more likely to be spotted and stolen/destroyed x.X

That's pretty much the deal. If use the side of an island facing away from the mainland, your chances are better. Plus, there's no land dwellers roaming around, only boaters.

There is water caves where you can hide your boats.

Water Caves sound sexy, but I've never seen one.

As for Boaters....speaking as a Boater, Boaters are the worst sort of people ^.^

I just leave my boat about 50m off shore. When I want to use it I drop all my gear and swim out to it and bring it back to shore then gear up and then go on my boating journey.

Seems to work, most people won't bother with a boat that far out if they are on land.

WTB Speargun or ability to throw spears while underwater....


So these Seacaves you can hide boats in......can you flag them so you can somewhat secure them with Barbwire? Gates? Build Containers in them.....?

ALso.....where are said caves....Guessing the cliffs in the SW corner of map.

Can you include a screen shot of how this would be laid out?

There are particular spots you search along the beaches...between big rocks, bushes that go halfway into the river. This info is from halfway of 0.6 so might have changed too. I'd like very much if the Camo net that has been requested would come available...not only for boats either.
