Where is all the 7.62x39 ammo?

Where in the world does this spawn at. I've got 250+ hrs and hardly ever find this. Anyone seeing similar low spawn rates for this caliber ammo? I've even bumped up server loot but still no luck. Help.

Maybe you checked the wrong spawns. High tier Items like: Full automatic rifles, Armor, Scopes, SIghts, Big Caliber Ammunition etc spawns 90% of the time in underground bunkers! Many can only spawn in those bunkers. Some Items like: SMGS, Small caliber ammunition, low tier scopes/sights can spawn in police stations. And the WW2 bunkers mostly spawns: WW2 Rifles, WW2 Scopes, WW2 Armor.

speaking of ww2 bunkers. they never spawn the ace helmet there anymore for whatever reason..

I wish I could say I haven't been checking in bunkers, but I go into those quite regularly, with no real luck. Was hoping its wasn't just me, but I'm having a heck of a time finding anything 7.62x39 ammo related, and crafting these rounds seems limited to 50% durability, so they tend to be unreliable as they jam by AK in the worst possible times.

Did you also open the locked containers? Tbh, When finding a Rifle amunition, 7.62x39 and 5.56x45 are the most usual I find.

It is rare ammo, and rng can make it even more so. I could ask instead where is all the 5.45x39 ammo aside from loot drops.

I full clear the bunkers, to include looting all the lockers, etc. I tend to find some 5.56x45, but nothing in the numbers needed to support myself, let alone my 3 other friends on my private server. Maybe I need to bump the loot tables again, but I've set it from the default 1 level to now 5 and still not finding enough to go around.

The improvised workbench is limited. You should get 100% bullets from in-game machines like the drill press.

I've also found this ammo type to be more rare than the others. AKS ammo as well. It seems out of balance with the others for sure.

It only spawns in tier 2 and 3 military locations ( you can tell the tier of the location by the amount of sentries patrolling around, as tier 1 military locations do not have any sentry guards ). It has a rarity of 2 ( rare ).

The most that I have ever found was in a supply drop. 4 boxes, plus an RPK and 2 drums.

Since the wipe I've found 1 box and a handfull of loose rounds and pretty much only loot tier2/3 mil areas. In contrast I've found dozens of 5.56 boxes and close to a dozen .50 boxes. The 7.62 and 5.45 are very rare in comparison and ironically, the weapons that fire them seem to be the most common. I've got boxes and boxes of cereal and no milk.

We had some luck in the weapons factory finding 7.62, finding maybe 1 1/2 worth of mags, but the bunkers w mechs haven't had any luck. Found more 5.56 there as well.
