I think it's great that Scum is bring in some historic stuff and really old survival stuff from different country's and cultures and sure this is something the devs will expand on.
they added an English Knight helmet idk if a suit of armor will follow that hopefully a Viking cycle helmet will drop with dirt bikes.
Well... as a fact, I do actually know a Scotsman in the game, who is happy about this :) Orw man, now I have to be witness to a scummish version of "Braveheart" and Scottish national pride the next time I'll meet him. Jeeez. But... even this Scotsman succumbs to the sheer fact that Vikings were... much more... awesome back then, now we are at the medieval era or theme. So, a viking heltmet, you know... with horns... should be on the list in future [!]
We need a bagpipe so our Scottish mates can fulfill their pride.....come on, we have a banjo, why not a bagpipe?
Excerpts:
"Yes, the pugnacious Scandinavians probably sported headgear when they marched into battle, but there’s no reason to believe it was festooned with horns.
despite years of searching, archaeologists have yet to uncover a Viking-era helmet embellished with horns.
The popular image of the strapping Viking in a horned helmet dates back to the 1800s, when Scandinavian artists like Sweden’s Gustav Malmström included the headgear in their portrayals of the raiders. When Wagner staged his “Der Ring des Nibelungen” opera cycle in the 1870s, costume designer Carl Emil Doepler created horned helmets for the Viking characters, and an enduring stereotype was born."
In other words, horned viking helmets are all bull****. And when you think about it for a moment, it doesn't make any sense in combat, anyway. What purpose would horns on your helmet serve, other than the rather dubious one of supposedly impressing your opponent? The horns would just provide a big, handy handle for an opponent to grab onto during melee, with which to either yank your helmet off or pull you around like a cur dog to more easily kill you. And if a sword or axe blow landed on top of one of your silly horns, it would do the same thing, with the potential to break your neck as well. No wonder real warriors never did something that stupid.
Heh, i'm sorry you're all deluded about the mythical helmets, but hope you enjoy wearing them in your stadiums! :-) Horny lot, them nords...
