Thanks a lot for the clarification. So what in the clip is outdated then. I will just need to git gud without the dot :)
Then could I ask 1 question about the archery skill? If the dot always disappears in combat mode, what is the other benefits of having high archery skill, please?
Also, I would like to suggest an idea about the bow if possible since as a solo beginner, I mostly use an improvised bow (I have very little luck finding a compound bow :( ). So it would be great to have an easier way to aim even without the dot. The current posture when pulling the arrow feels like the body is still square. It would be nice to have a character facing more to the side as the actual archer does and having the character pointing the index finger of the left hand to the target?
Yes, I almost give up using a none compound bow. But it is just difficult for me to find a compound bow. And whenever I found a gun (which is very very rare), I always got swamp by a horde of puppets since the gun shot attract them :(
But yeah, after insisting on using a normal bow for a while, my shot seems to be better. Still need to have more practice.
Why has it been removed and not just from the bows but all weapons rifle and or pistol?.
You have an icon for almost every thing else pointing at what you are about to interact with.
Going into combat mode should not just be a first person perspective view at all times, no matter what people complain about.
Looking through a scope of a rifle, that i get first person view fine, as i'm about to snipe somebody or puppet or animal.
What about those of us that have difficulty playing in first person mode due to vertigo and so on?.
What about firing from the hip, with nothing helping to point the direction of fire, something most games do have for instance like in Red Dead Redemption to name one.
Is this a combination of an 3rd person and first person or just a first person shooter with some third person aspects in it?
It's always good too remember that what every is put in or taken out of any t game goes both ways for all to either have an ability or not.
A dot pointer should be a standard feature in any great game, with the change of going into a more sophisticated first person sniping perspective.
Having trouble to aim like me too.
Because white dot show where your first bullet will go or in bow case arrow.
That was removed and it now disappears after you go into combat mode.
The lower the bow #, the lower the strength requied to use it and the higher the arrow drop off. The starter crafted bows are junk as you practically have to aim them above your targets head even at short distances.
The 100# Ballista has a very flat firing trajectory and is the best bow save for the compound bow.
Crossbows are fairly common and also have a flat trajectory, making them good to get head shots with. Remember to hold your breath to reduce the breathing sway and improve your accuracy.
Crossbow rocks. The BlackHawk, not the dufus crafted one you can't aim. Just remember the xbow works with the rifle skill, not the archery skill. So if you intend to use the xbow, don't bother putting any points in archery. Waste.
Well I usually go around with the crafted one, even in bunkers. Super easy to craft (you just need sticks) so you can drop it in case you find better weapons.
If you have good timing and aim is a one-shot weapon, except for big armored guys.
It is silent.
It has got the same mechanics of rifle (right click and enter first person mode to aim), so it is fast and practical.
Yep good suggestions from smokey, don't put points on archery for now. Bows are not usefull now, at least to me.
Bows are usually great against puppets if you can get some headshots on them, it will take them down fast and silently without it reveals your position to a nearby enemy, especially if puppets didn't notice you yet.
Maybe it's just me, but here's my problem with bows now. The second you pull the arrow back, you have only that second, maybe less, before the dot disappears and takes your only aimpoint with it. In that very short second, before the dot disappears, you have to position it in exactly the right spot to get that headshot on the puppet, which is usually bobbing and weaving and rocking and twitching and making it utterly f**king impossible to keep its head right on that dot for even that short second. And you gotta release your arrow in that same short second.
Now some people are no doubt good enough (twitchy CoD kids) to usually make that instantaneous, there-and-gone shot before the head bobs right on outta where the dot just was, but i sure the f**king hell ain't one of them. And then you have to adjust your aim to try to hit the bobbing head where it's moved off to, before it bobs somewhere else a second after that. But, oh, right, you no longer have any kind of aim point, and hitting that tiny little bobbing head just became a complete wild-arsed guess.
And that is why i don't use bows now, since they completely effed up aiming them. Sometimes, actual reality just sucks too hard when you try to shoe-horn it into a video game. This's one of those times.
If you don't like how that works on bows you can use a compound bow that has a sight on it, the dot was removed for all weapons including the bow, it's not only the bow that got affected by this.
